Planning to buy a camera

My budget is only $500 and I'm looking for a high end camera. Probably a SLR type. Been looking at Amazon but I wonder if there are still sites where I can see much cheaper price with high quality. If you know something please share it with me. I prefer a canon brand. Thanks!
