Assignments

Too much work too little time. It'll be nice if I can stop time then I can do my assignments whenever I feel like it or maybe go back in time to catch up my late work. I don't even have enough sleep to begin with. I bet tons of college students felt the same way unless they are slackers. There's also no point managing my time with a timetable because if I force myself to do work when I'm not in a mood then my outcome would be mediocre or bad. Can anyone give me advice to solve this problem I have?

Well for starters, getting off the internet is a HUGE help. lol No seriously, get off the internet. If you have to research something, go to the library and get real books to help you. Getting stuff done was so much easier for me when I could just spend time working on it in the library, and then when I was home I was done so I could forget about it and just be home. Being at school kinda helped me stay in the school mood. Time management isn't easy, but really it boils down to prioritizing. I would work on assignments a little each day so I wasn't procrastinating and finding myself trying to cram everything in last minute and I wasn't overwhelmed by all the work I had to do.

Excuse me? Get off the internet isn't helpful because I need it for finding references faster. (I'm an illustration student). And what do you mean by real books anyway?

Real books means books that can be grasped physically. With the internet and the bloom of e-books, real books (especially those in libraries) are just being ignored by people (sometimes including me).

Oh that.. I actually bought a real book about anatomy and it's not even an ebook. Anyway I don't read ebooks because it's bad for my eyes and I don't like reading from the screen.

MULTITASKING! Helped me through all those busy days! Do your assignments while you eat, or taking a dump. Like the other said, get off the internet. If you need some reference, check out your local library, i'm sure they have something for reference. Internet can be very distracting. ( especially for me, you could say you are going to have some music running on youtube, but then an Ellen video catch your eyes and you'll be glued to it for the next couple of hours!)

The "do you assignments while taking a dump" part is really... I don't know what to say about that..XD I might get my papers and books wet that way. Actually I strangely can finish my assignments quicker with music from Youtube. Maybe it's because I'm actually bored of surfing the net all the time.. XD (Is there anyone who will get bored of surfing the net?)

The most important thing to do is make sure that you're strict with yourself. You say that you can't do a timetable; well if this is the case then chances are you're just not motivated enough to be able to succeed in your studies. You have to really want to do well and complete the work or you're never going to be able to do so. I found that when I was in school, giving myself treats after every hour were a good way to make me do the work, but make sure that your parents give you the treats so that you can't just cheat and give them to yourself earlier than you really should be doing.

Can you specify your real hours in school. I'm a college student taking up one of the most busy courses-ACCOUNTANCY,, for me I can easily manage my time well, maybe because I'm good at this profession, in fact im not really doing assignments on time. :D my class hours spotted only the half of the day. Sometimes 3 hours only a day :) so i have 6-15 extra hours to work with online earnings and school tasks :) If i'm having a trouble with my time, I do think first about my rest. I couldn't think well and act well if i'm tired. So one must have enough rest to manage his/her time well.Take away unncessary things. Focus on the activities that can benefit you a lot in the future :)

Assignment and project work are quite common to school and college students. Most of the students consider it as a burden and do their assignment without interest. But the real concept of assignment and project is the improve our knowledge in the subject and give our best in our project. We must do our assignments with our full interest and finish it in a proper time. Most of the students don't do the assignment at the beginning and they started to do it at the neck of the moment which is wrong. If we start our assignment from the beginning, we will enjoy a lot while doing it and understand our work fully. In stead if we did it in the last minutes, we don't do it properly as well as we will spoil our sleep and health to finish the assignment and project. Lot of school and college students are very much addicted with the modern equipment like internet, smart phones, ipads and other devices and spend most of their times with it. It is one of the major reason of the time lack. Forget about these modern things for few days, while you are having exams and projects and concentrate with your assignment to do it in a good way and continue your relaxing activities after finishing your projects. Studies are important in our school and college days than any other things. Don't miss your assignment and do it properly with your full attention. All the best.

I know your feeling dude. Happen to me so many times. I am a college student, in Informatics Engineering major. The assignments are given almost at the same time. The deadlines are sometimes quite impossible. You can do the assignment with your friends. It's better than "suffering" alone ;)

You just have to put your mind to it and set time aside and use it for each subject. I went to full time college during the day, slept a few hours then worked full time 3rd at a factory for 3 years so I know how hard it can be. I just focused on one subject for a certain amount of time and got it done. Then if I needed more time for one versus the other I used less time for the subject I felt comfortable with. Then a lot of my weekends were completely focused on homework, but now I am glad I got it over with

In my case for four years now, assignments are a bit easy and can be done right after class since it's usually Math or Programming Language (C, C++, Java). Not in the mood? Please do not tell me you go online when this happen. Do not ever go online whenever this happen. Going online when you're not in a good mood eats up your time. There's no real secret behind college because everything is up to each person's "game plan".

I feel your pain. I have always struggled to get all my work done right without feeling like it is useless. The only thing i have been able to do to keep going is to find friends to do the work with. If you help people and they help you then you get a good support group and every once in a while take a break from it and play a game for a little or watch a show. That's what I do.
