Would you recommend to others the usage of bunk beds? I think it all depends on the children and why a parent might be thinking or wanting to get a set. Some siblings just don't get alone so a bunk bed might not be a good idea and some times it's perfect when a children have to share a room and its a small room. I don't know if I would recommend it to someone else or not.

Bunk beds are great if your space is limited. You can seperate them if you want to.We used to have bunk beds when we were smaller and used to make them into a boat or a tent, hours of fun playing in our bunkbeds.

Oh yes, you are so right, suzzy3. We used to make tents and ships and forts with our bunk beds and it was great fun!

We opted not to use bunk beds (but that's just us). We decided it's better if our kids had separate rooms (our daughter is 7 and our son is just 2 and a half). For one, we just know the kids would fight for who sleeps at the top if they had bunk beds (my little son wants to do everything the older one does). But we don't want him at the top now because he still rolls around a lot when he sleeps . . . don't need for him to fall accidentally even if there are rails all around. We actually do have beds for them that can be converted into bunk beds (they are handmade beds that our friends gave to us - they don't have kids) but there were no instructions on how to do it - and we didn't want to take any chances converting them ourselves in case anything happened (like if it collapsed). But they make good separate sturdy twin beds which is what we wanted anyway. Plus, because of their strong personalities, we think it's good they would have their own private space to do their own private things.

My brothers had bunk beds nothing happened to them and it all depends on what kind that you get. I wouldn't do metal the wooden ones are more sound and there beds are still standing up now they are bunked. The question wasn't about if you do or don't have a bunk bed for you kids but if you would recommended? Personally it all depends if I would or wouldn't and that it has nothing to do my kids. I would in the end leaving it up to those parents it's never a bad thought but it would have to do with a lot of shopping and a lot of bunk beds now have bar rails to keep people from falling out.

It is sorta strange but I say you have to see if the two kids Like each other. If They can play with one another and Not fight every minute. Then bunk beds will be ideal. But if they Need their own space, then getting two separate beds is ideal. If They Must share a room, then you can split the room in half. But it All depends on the children.

Bunk beds are for bigger kids or at least children that aren't toddlers. So by then a parent knows if there kids personalities get along and even then some times the kids are stuck sharing a room. my brothers where stuck in the same room for a good awhile so they had bunk beds but then my parents but them in there own rooms . It just really depends it doesn't really matter if they fight over things or not some times you have no choice but to put to kids in the same room because either one you can't afford a bigger space. Hubby's brothers share a bed room and have bunk beds, the same bunk bed that hubby and is step brother used they never liked each other and still don't the same with my brothers. You can't always split a room in half if you have a small room you have no choice but bunk beds . We can bearly up in two cribs in the space we got and when we move most likely the same things in any two bedroom apartment. The same thing happens in houses to you can't always afford to get another bedroom.
