Lahm, Khedira, Klose and Reus were all on the scorecard as Germany beat Greece 4-2 in a convincing display in the quarters. Samaras and Salpingidis scored the consolation goals for Greece. Joachim Loew sprung a surprise by resting Gomez, Podolski and Muller and replaced them by Klose, Reus and Schurrle and was rewarded with goals from Klose and Reus. Klose is now just 4 goals behind Muller on the top goal scorers for Germany. Do you think this German team can go all the way after this performance? Cheers! Ram

Germany is the only team in the tournament which won all of its matches in the first round. Added to that is this latest victory they have against the 2004 Euro champions Greece. I took a closer look into the squad and saw something that could be an advantage. If Germany will use this same squad in Brazil 2014 and in the next Euro competition, I will bet with my one eye closed and place my entire family fortune for the German team to win! Oh, I almost forgot. That advantage - only 8 out of their 23-man squad are all aged above 25. That means about two-thirds of the entire squad are still in the age of 25 years old and below. So this is definitely a very young team which has already gained enough experience to play in the world stage. Let's just hope they all won't be injured at the same time!

Yes, the average age of the team is very low and that makes the team a very great one for the future. I think if they can win the Euro this year, they will then be spurred on to win the World Cup two years from now. Cheers! Ram

I don't know. I looked at this match up and thought it was a one sided match. I'm surprised that Greece scored 2! So this match doesn't tell me if Germany can go far or not.

And now they face Italy, which is renowned for it's defensive abilities. This Italian team though looks a bit different and seems to have a bit of creativity going up front with some mercurial talents such as Ballotelli and Cassano. Cheers! Ram

The first Greek by Samaras was a very good one. The second one was after the match was done and dusted via a penalty. BTW, this German team is not very renowned for keeping clean sheets. They tend to score more than their opponents. Cheers! Ram

When I saw the lineup, my first impression was, what is going on in Loew's mind. Why choose to change the lineup in the knockup stage. But seeing their second half display, I was left in awe. Whoever they choose to start the game, they seems to be able to steamroll their opponent. What is scary is that Goetze still has yet to make his appearance. He is the young german who I think will be a world beater.

This was a game when I had a deja vu feeling. My favorite team was playing against a team in blue, like Chelsea did and the ball didn't want to enter the net. And after entering it, the opposite team equalized with the first shot on goal. I thought that this cannot be happening again, and it didn't. But two days later I found out that the semi final opponent will be Italy and I knew that the Italian luck will be stronger than Germany's knowledge and this was true. Germany started the semifinal very well, but when I saw that Khedira couldn't put the ball in the net from 1 meter and then Ballotelli scored I was convinced that nothing can be done to beat the Italian luck. And I was right, sadly. Based on the performances till then, the teams which deserved the most to play the final were Germany and Portugal, but it didn't happen like that.

I think this might be becoming a matter of the mind for the German teams. I think they were the better team on paper, but they could not get the job done, for the fourth time in the semifinals of a major tournament now. I think what Germany right now lacks is a big match player, a player who can lift and raise the team to bigger heights on bigger occasions. Right now Germany plays a consistent game where they play a certain level on most games. But other teams lift themselves a notch or two for the major games and Germany just does not seem to be able to raise to that level. Take the example of Buffon in goal, he was incredible and like a wall. On the other hand, though you could not blame Neuer for conceding the goals, he could not make an incredible save to stop the goal in the match when the occasion demanded. And I think that is the key to Germany's problems. Cheers! Ram

Amongst the upcoming crop of players, do you see any youngster who can now take up this leadership role. I am pretty sure there might be youngsters in the Bundesliga who would be playing leadership roles at their club who can now step up. Cheers! Ram

Yes, this is what many people say, and I agree with them, neither Germany nor Bayern has a leader anymore, a player who is willing to "die" on the field and make others do the same. Maybe Olic was one of them at Bayern, but because he was not always a first team choice, he couldn't develop as a leader. With all the respect and admiration I have towards Lahm and Schweinsteiger, they are not what we can call real leaders, I cannot see the fire in their face like I have seen in the face of Kahn, Effenberg, Jancker and so on. I just hope that the next time when Bayern or the national team will be so close on winning a big tournament, players like Lahm or Schweinsteiger will have these attitude and will make all they can to lift a major trophy, because they are not so young anymore and they will not have many other chances anymore.

I strongly believe that germany can each until to the final. I love Germany since from child. The player that impress me a lot is thomas muller and micheal ballack. They are play very consistent and produce a good result. I will feel happy if they win the trophy of EURO 2012. cheers.

Klose is just 4 goals short of the maximum goals scored by a German. This record is currently held by Gerd Muller. I think he is one of the most prolific scorers with his head. Cheers! Ram

I think the Germans were great, but they also had many flaws. They missed in some situations in which they should have not. They were fantastic, and I think that Ozil is a super-player. On the other hand, the Greeks did not play well, and thus it is easy to be a great team against weaker opponents. I really hope that Spain wins the tournament, though I am not very sure they are capable of doing so.

Of course, this was probably the most easiest of matches of the quarters in that Greece is a not a top 10 team in the world rankings. But still they have shown in the past that you cannot take them lightly. But there were definitely missing their inspirational captain Karagounis. Ozil is one of the best midfielders in the world and pulls the threads in the German midfield. Cheers! Ram
