Or at least i feels like I have, throat really hurts. I usually rush straight for the lemsip but have unfortunetly dont have any this time, disaster. I have managed to find a beechams while desparately searching the medicine cupboard. I much prefer lemsip, beechams is not as soothign for me. Has anyone else got some tips to ease the pain?

Ouch. Well the only thing I know to do for a sore throat is to have cough drops, or straight Eucalyptus. If its really bad then I spray my throat with some soothing sore-throat spray. I'm not sure what the active ingredient is in it, but it's a good numbing agent and helps to dull the pain until the throat heals. I find that at the grocery store. I also will drink some hot tea, I hear lemon tea with honey is good for sore throats.

Whew! I thought you really swallowed a razor for real haha :) What I do is I usually drink warm or hot water to ease the pain. I also drink some lemon juice with a bit of honey. That also helps too :) You should try it. I hope my response will help. happy mylotting!

You could eat ice cream (not a citrus flavour) or drink ice cold milk, and I don't know what part of the world you are in, but in the UK you can buy a spray called Difflam which will ease throat and mouth soreness. However, it sounds to me as if you possibly might have a throat infection or maybe even tonsillitis? Perhaps a visit to a doctor would help clear things up for good? All Beechams and Lemsip have in them is aspirin, but it works on throats because of it being liquid.

I'm sorry I'm a bit late to this discussion but, if your throat still hurts, try gargling with warm salt water. If you dissolve about a teaspoon of table salt in a small cup of warm water, then gargle with it, it not only soothes the pain but it will also help to kill germs that may be causing the sore throat. Salt kills bacteria and helps to get rid of infection. I've used this method every time I get a sore throat and it always helps. I've had strep throat a couple of times and, naturally, I had to see my doctor and get antibiotics but the salt water did help to make my throat feel better while it was healing.

I usually experience this whenever a bone from a fish will be stuck in my throat. Well, I just endure the pain and after 1week in while just go away. Pretty lame for me, but its working though. haha :)
