Lately I watched a movie called Princess Diaries and then I learned the country named Genovia. I wonder whether this is just a movie or it is in real? Perhaps this country does exist now?

Genovia is not a real place. It is just an imagination. It is created for the purpose of the movie and when I searched this place in the map. I cannot find it with my naked eye .

I searched for some information about the country mentioned to find that it is a real country but a created one in the movie Princess Diaries. You know, in movies many things are imagined and created. We don't have to be serious about them. Otherwise we will get bothered about them. Take care, youless.

Genovia is fictional. Your confusion may have arisen because many references in the books are factual, though the Princess Diaries are essentially a work of fiction.
It seems that the name 'Genovia' may be loosely based on the Mediterranean city of Genoa.

Hi youless! I've also watched this movie several year ago and I know that the place was created for the purpose of the movie. Genovia is not a real place.
