Have you written a Poem?

Last Sunday, my son told me that he needs to recite a poem in school and the poem must be an original. Meaning to say, he needs to write one and recite in front of his classmates. He was really worried about it, he has not written any poems before. By the way, my son is only 8 years old. I was worried too because I'm not so good in writing poems too. But I told myself that I need to pull this one through for the sake of my son. So we sat down and thought of a good topic. I asked him what would his poem be about and he said about family. We worked on the poem for a good 2 hours. We were able to make a 3 stanza poem. The next day, he brought it to school and read it infront of his classmates and teacher. When he got home, he told me that his teacher told him that his poem was really good and that he'd recite on the school program next month. I'm so proud of my son. He said he'd write more poems next time.
