My daughter and grandsons are so use to the city life they
really don't like country living..they can't wait to get
back to New York...But its just because they are not use to
being so far away from everything..however we are in the city
limits where the hotel is... they just don't know anyone
here...

Hello bjc66bjc
How long are your daughter and grandsons planning to stay? How old are your grandsons? Perhaps they just miss their friends? Do they have mobile communications with them? My children do not seem to be able to live without haveing mobile communications with them constantly.
Peace

It was probably good for them and it will give them something to talk about for years go come.

I live in a big city and hate it. I miss the country life and having privacy. I am used to having people help others and here where I am now nobody cares nor do they help each other. The other day Randy and I went to Walmart and there was a man who pulled into a handicap spot (he had no card saying such and Randy had asked him [politely to please move) and the guy would not move. He said that I will only be here a few minutes so I can park here. I thought it was rude of the man since Randy is handicap and needed the space.

I agree it is very rude to see people do that. But I wonder how they would feel if either they themselves was handicapped or a member of his family was and needed that parking space and someone carried on the way he did. I just wonder how would he feel.

I like living somewhere it between. I love where we are now, the neighborhood is great, but I hate having to drive 15-20 minutes to get to a cheaper grocery store. I can walk to the fruit stands, which is really nice. However if you run out of eggs, it's not convenient (or with gas at$3.60/gallon cost wise) to drive into town for 1 thing so I end up going to he nearest grocery store which isn't always the best price or selection. The last place we were in, we were about 5-10 minutes from everything, but we were on the edge of the city limits. That was really nice. The neighborhood was planned too so there were playgrounds, it was near a lake and other attractions which was great for my kids.

I guess everyone has their preferences. I hate living in even in a small city and would much prefer the country, but that's just me. My daughter in law is something like your daughter and grandsons. She doesn't like anything having to do with "the land," and would panic if she got dirt under her fingernails.
It's just a different way of life. I would panic if I had to do some of the things she does.

I wAS in the same position as a kid. I lived in Omaha, Nebraska and my mom moved me and all my brothers and my sister to the middle of nowhere Oklahoma. I hated it i thought who would want to live here in the middle of nowhere. I now four years later still live in the country and i love it!!!!!!! I am actually in love and getting married this month to a down south country boy. I have noticed that for some people the country life grows on them. Like jason aldeans song fly over states great message i highly suggest that you listen to it.

I guess it all depend on what you are use too. I could'nt live in the city because it's just to fast for me. So it all in what you like. But contry living is much better living I think. Because we have crime but not as bad as city living things are alot slower and people seem to be more family oriented. All this is my point of view. People that live in the city for a long time and they come to the country they seem to think it's too slow. young people that is but as you know the older we all become we begin to wish for quiet times and the slow life. But I say to each it's own. me myself I love the life of a country woman.
