I usually just grow tomatoes, onions, and several different kinds of peppers, like jalepeno, habenero, chili peppers and green peppers. this year we planted cucumbers that grow up a trellis. we also have asparagus that grows ever year.

I love hot chillis, we grow all kinds of chili's and what we don't grow we get from our neighbours, we never have to shop for vegetables. How long does it take before you can harvest the asparagus?

it takes about 2 years, but probably more like 6 or 7 years before you have enough grown to make a side dish.

how are your pumpkins growing? here in the midwest, some of the pumpkin growers say the first part of the season was great, then we had a cold front move thru that brought a hard freeze, so they end of the crop didn't fair so well.

I grow so much I can hardly keep up wiwth it! Let's see..tomatoes, okra, summer squash, zucchini, bush beans, sweet peppers, hot peppers, collards, spinach, onions, potatoes,...and i'll probably add something else next year! I love working in the garden and harvesting everything that I've worked hard to grow from a tiny little seed...I specially just love watching everything sprout and keep growing!
