I have noticed that there are some discussions that have garnished 50+ responses and are considered as a top discussion on the dashboard. While there are others that have only 1 response yet garnish the same distinction of making it to the top discussion board. How is this possible and who decides which discussions make it there? I know my discussions might never make it to the the leader board and only just hope that I can garnish enough responses to make my discussion worthwhile to others so they may find my topics and thoughts interesting enough to read. I do try to take the time to read and make as many responses back to those who do take the time to respond to my discussions, even if it is a small blurb to say thanks.

I have too noticed that it's very weird how things are done here but I continue to cross my fingers in hopes that I may one day have a discussion that goes into the top classification. I'm sure discussions have to be generalized so that everyone here on myLot has the chance to give their insight, no matter their background or belief. This would help your discussion become popular because there would be no barriers and therefore you would receive an imminent amount of feedback. This is what I believe but its very hard to come up with a discussion like so, especially since my ideas are usually already taken. Good luck to you, I will continue trying!

I always have tried to pull from my own life and experiences when forming a discussion and will do so anyways. Sure they might not matter to some but they are my own thoughts and ideas at that particular moment in time. yes one day it would be nice to see one of my discussions make it to the the top discussions but until then I will continue to write as I would normally do and enjoy myLot for the insightful dialogue we enjoy with each other.

steelers hi I think they use some sort of software and its their secret as to what makes the top discussions . I have been on both top discussions and also hot and I have not the foggiest idea of what the criterion is so if it happens just enjoy thats all I can say.Steeler for a newcomer you are doing great so do not worry you will hit both top and hot one fine day.I also try my darnedest to answer all the responses I get as I feel I owe it to my responders.

Thank you Hatley for the words of encouragement. I only hope one day to make the grade and congratulations on your making the top and hot list.

i qm really annoyed with this. My discussion was postrd as top in mylot since twodays ago. I think thathough there are still issues with mylot because i am unable to pos in that discussionanymore. Someone did manage to post a response but it was rather impossible for me to post a comment. I know that my discussion have potential of getting more responses but i think ylot's system issues has proved to be a pain... It is not directing me to the edit portion or to post a discussion. Everytime i hit the add comment it is just refreshing the page... Hay i just gave up and left that discussion of mine.

I often wonder the same thing! However, I really could care less-- I just like to talk to people, as I am housebound :-). But it is an interesting question-- if I find any information on this I will post it for everyone. After all, I have plenty of time to look!

It's based on the discussions in the specific category under which the discussion was entered. i.e cooking, internet, food, questions & answers are all different categories where you put your discussion.
