Hello guys..when I had online job before the number of hours being required by my employer was eight hours. Honestly, I couldn't stand that straightly, I did some breaks in the middle of that 8 hours. I don't remember I was able to work that 8 hour straight of online work. Does anyone here can work on that length of time on online their task? (excluding of course on our meal breaks)...

I would probably get physically and mentally exhausted if I do that 8 hours straight. Breaks in between are really needed to loosen up for awhile and get relax to continue on this that needed to do.

Definitely not. I might have to massage my eyes for at least half hours to get some rest. I couldn't face the computer that long. If I was desperately in need of money, I probably would do my best to work on the computer as longer as I can. I hopefully won't harm my health. Money is the one of the motivation.

That's right kingparker, we are ready to take some extra load just for the money. We're just pray our good health would still prevail in spite of our extra effort for money for us for our survival...
Thanks for responding my friend..

hi mobhomeir hi I mylot from 8 to 11, lu nch then 12 to 4 then 5 to 9 pm but I run to the bathroom in between, stop and rest for a few minutes then resume mylotting so it does not bother me like it would in an 8 hour day.but your employer is supposed to let you have coffee breaks during the day surely?I have to relax my eyes after several hours here then come back. I spend more time as I am retired so I am the leader of the whole pack all 243,455 of them
so it paid. lol

Yes it seems that mylot is not anymore a part time job but your full time online job.
I think you do very well in your multi-tasking now. I never tried it yet but, sooner I try your style.

I usually stare at the computer monitor for 8 hours or so. Add more if I uncovered something online and I cannot get it out of my head. Of course there are the online distractions that seems to pop up whenever the mind doesn’t know. I am also worried about my health, particularly my eyesight but I managed doing breaks and I make sure I get out of the house for the much needed sunshine. I do work online but I try to stay out of the computer on days off. And I try to curb my online enthusiasm sometimes. I just hope it does not translate too much on my prescription.

When I had an 8-hour online job before for almost a year of working, I observed something happened differently with my vision. So much so that until now I am still using not prescribed reading eyeglasses.
I was exposed more than eight hours at that time because I accepted overtime if there were un-finished task. My eyes got rested when I don't have computer job anymore. But, am still doing some online job regularly here at mylot but my eyes are feeling better now since I already have much time to rest.

Stop doing it constantly my friend. Don't abuse your eyes because how can we work again with anything if we would already have problem with our eyes...take a rest in between to have your eyes have a rest.
thanks for responding..

I was required to take some online courses and tests that took me about twelve hours, it was painstakingly long. In the end I was mentally exhausted and my vison seemed off from staring at the screen for so long. I hope your employer eases up on you and everything turns out in your favor, best of luck.

I have never worked on something that requires me to face the computer for 8 hours or more. I guess, I can if I have such an assignment. But since my line of work does not need for me to be in that situation, I cannot answer exactly if I will be able to do such. Most of the time I go online is just to check my emails and do some on and off money making things like posting here in mylot and posting on facebook..

Good for you my friend. But if you start diverting your time playing online games and get addicted you surely won't care if your eyes get soak at the monitor for a long period of time...i hope it won't happen...

it is advisable to work for 30 minutes take a break of 5 minutes go for small walk and then continue. that should be done diligently without it being seen as deserting the work. for me - being a freelancer no compulsions--i cannot work more than 30 minutes at a time before a laptop or computer.

I can't stand more than a few hours here and there. I do a lot of things for money on the internet but none continuously and one doesn't ever require typing ha ha. I do this or that switching between sites then I even get off and watch a movie on Netflix before bed because my eyes are getting tired.
I don't understand the ones that make this a part time job. They may need the few dollars but they are risking their eyesight and their health. Not to mention they aren't exercising sitting for that many hours. I have to exercise or I'll get fat. I have kids, pets, jobs and a house.
I have a friend who did medical transcription, she actually went blind one night from eyestrain and had to go to the emergency room. She was trying to work overtime to make extra money. I was really scared hearing her tell me that, that money nearly cost her her eyesight. I don't blame you for not being able to stand that, it's bad for you anyway.

I am a Software Engineer by profession and in office my working hours is 8 hours. I surely can't sit continuous in front of my PC. I always take a break every 90 minutes or 120 minutes. I relax or go out take a walk in the small intervals or breaks. :)
