The Secret World of Arrietty

The Secret World of Arrietty - The movie is about Arrietty, a tiny, but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper.

Like all little people, Arrietty (AIR-ee-ett-ee) remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to "borrow" scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shawn, a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms.

If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty's family from the home and straight into danger.

My hubby likes watching movies that is why in the recent days we've watched almost everyday after work and in the later afternoons. One of the movies that he wanted us to watch is the Secret World of Arrietty. Its about little people who lives beneath the floorboards of the houses of the humans. And the relationship of a little person which is Arrietty to a young boy named Shawn. The movie was about how the little people "borrows" things from humans like food or some fabrics and stuff. This movie was based on the children's book "The Borrowers." I recommend this movie to be watched by young ones since it has a very good moral lesson. What about you guys? Have you already watched this movie? Any thoughts?

Its not scary as Arrietty looks like an ordinary girl just that she's 3 feet tall. You can try to search the movie its really great for the kids and young at heart. Its great since it has a moral lesson and its about friendship, trust and love for the family and friends. Me and hubby was actually thinking "what if" they really do exist and all the things that are missing was being "borrowed" by the little people

I've not heard of this movie, but I have seen other movies that are very similar to the movie that you are talking about. I won't say that I sit down and watch complete movies on a regular basis because of the fact that I am just not a person that is completely able to sit still. The movie that I can think of that sounds very much like this one is The Borrowers, which I really enjoyed.

Horton hears a who! is an animated comedy feature - Horton hears a who! is an animated comedy feature film
Just by reading your description of the movie has made me interested in that movie! At first what you said about the movie reminded me of the animated comedy feature film, "Horton Hears a Who!", about people live on a tiny dust speck and Horton the elephant helps them by putting the tiny speck on to somewhere that is safe.

This sounds like a pretty interesting movie to watch. I like watching movies which are primarily for children, because I like to be up-to-date about children's movies, as I'm planning to have one, and it's important to decide which ones to make%let ourr kids watch, because now there are slapstick and moronic kids' movies, too. Also, I like these kind of fantasy-themed tale-like movies. I loved Stardust, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium or The Secret of Moonacre or Ella Enchanted, for example.
