Well I was worried about the stools test because I had to give a sample for three days. I don't go regularly. Thank goodness I was able to get the three days in. But I tell you what a smell, I had to put the sample kit in a container, because it was smelling all over the house. Has anyone else had do this test?

Yes I had it before, health care agency provided the container and they would not accept lots of it (your stool), just a portion and half of the (bottle)urine were needed. Therefore there would never be bad smell flying inside the house...thanks for responding my friend.. Mobhomeir here 071512 1550hrs

this was just a little bit not even an ounce more like if you took a paint brush and applied the paint to a picture just a little bit they call it a swatch. But feces is feces and hanging around for three days it stinks.

When I was in college we always undergo annual physical exam which was a hustle because we needed to give urine, stool and blood to see if we were healthy. My technique was to drink 8 glasses of water and I would usually deficate in the hospital so I would give the sample immediately to the clinic. Good day

I have never had to do that. In an earlier discussion of yours about hospital workers, I told you about a stool problem I had when I was away from home. When I got into town I went to my doctor, and instead of making me do the stool sample thing, he just put me on some very high powered anti-biotics, as a plan A. Fortunately they cleared up whatever was wrong with me. If it hadn't worked, then I'd have had to do the damned stool thing.

the stool test is looking for blood in the stools.

Reading the other comments, then just what do you have to put these stools in if it's not an air tight container??? Hope it wasn't just a zip lock bag - ick! I was going to say I would put it outside - but then if you have the summer heat like we do, that might alter things or at least make the smell worse - cooked poo!!!

Are you talking about an occult blood stool sample, where you spread a little stool on the package and then seal it up? I've never had them smell at all. If it is those, it doesn't take much at all and it even comes with developer here to see if there is occult blood. I don't know of any other test that uses a package.

I've never had to do 3 tests in a row. I've had to give a stool sample years ago for a job once. I don't remember it smelling really bad after it was collected.. it just went into the container and then when it was sealed, the odor was gone.

I have never had this done before myself but I just had to come read this due to the title of your discussion. I was just too curious But you'd think common sense would tell these people to give you an airtight container as people don't really want to be smelling that all over the house!

It could be that the container would contaminate it, I don't know, it probably needs the air

No, I have never had to do this. My hat is off to you however. I have had to do so for my dogs vet though. I had to follow my sheperd around until she did her doggy duty, take a popsicle stick (supplied)and take alittle of Worm test I think it was. And this back in the late 70's. Such fun.

I know and it stressed me out too because I am not regular but I was able to complete the test now just my luck they will say the test was contaminated and I will have to do it again.

Have it done with my kid. I know it sounds gross for others but some medical test needs it and we must comply for our own good. Hope your health is fine

No, but it sounds like you are on to something. I know someone who did , and wondered why the kits don't have a sealed container to begin with?
