I think punishment shouldn't limit ages. This should be given to all those who are guilty regardless of age. That should teach them a lesson so that they won't do those things again. But, we should have a separate prison for, let's just say 15 years and younger, so that special treatment will be given to them. Special treatment is counselling and guiding these children to the right path. Teaching them skills and educating them is another one which could help them shape a bright future.

I think this group are very specil because of their age.Because of kinds of reasons, they commit crime which is abhored and regretted. It is neccessary to punish them. And the point is how to do.After all.they are only 14.They have long life to spend

I think in the case of murder anyone over the age of 12 should be treated as an adult. For rape I think a person should know better by the age of 12 they should be sent to a prison for kids and should have to go to school while in there and they should see a therapist and work through their issues. Then at age 18 they should be re-evaluated before they are sent out in the world, if it seems they have been rehibilitated and truly remorseful for what they have done then they should be given a chance and sent back out in to society, if the child was 16 or 17 when they commit the rape they should have to spend time in Juvie until they are 18 and then go to jail for at least a year or two, they need to realize that raping someone is a very bad thing. If it is robbery or shoplifting or something like that then I think time spent in Juvinille detention should be enough, but I believe that strong rehabilitation is needed.

This has been the issue of our youth these days. Teenage crimes are not punishable by capital punishment. This is why this is been used by some syndicates using teenage individual to help them in their criminal acts. I don't have idea on this but we will see how our lawmakers could come up with fair and just punishment for our teenage who committed crimes. Thanks for responding my friend.. I don't know what is the right age to make punishment those underage persons, but crime is crime. Anyone who committed crime should take responsibility of it. That is the bottom line. If that person is under 14 and can be immune of punishment, more and more crimes will be committed by those age group of people. Think about education to change them, encourage them to go to school. Learn good stuff and respect people.

there is no right age, even if its a petty and frivolous crime,it ought to be punished since we have to bend them by the age of 5 or else they will get out of control and start doing serious crimes.if you see basically the minor crimes are the one which is responsible for later days major crimes which affect people.so even if its a 3 year old child doing small mistakes,it ought to be punished severely and sternly so that it never repeats it ever in life and the fact keeps running in its mind forever

Children should only be punished when they understand their actions and what they did was wrong.I don't think a country should have a set age after which they punish children in my opinion it should vary case to case depending on the persons understanding. While i think children who understand what they did was wrong should be punished their needs to be a focus on rehabilitation as when they are young they have the potential to be changed and to avoid a life of crime.

I think there is no age for punishment because a crime is crime in whatever age you do it. Here in my country the child from the age of 10 are kept in a reformatory building and are given chances to reform themselves. Those who are above the age of 18 are sent to the prison.
