I took Patches this morning to the vet's for her checkup. She now has a viral infection and on different antibiotics. She is still dehydrated, and Ill be syriinging water into her. The vet didnt seem very confident, or sure to be honest. I think he is a student vet, but the other vet kept asking him if he was sure, and he was going to give her a shot of antibiotics when I still gave her some at home. I think I might get a second opinion and bring her to a different vet.

Is patches your rabbit? There are all kinds of websites online that will help you to avoid dehydration and infection so you can avoid the vet. We have never had a problem with our rabbit and he is two years old almost.

Stowyk is right Patches is the cat, and Marco is the rabbit. Marco seems to be handling the heat much better. Ive been syrining water into Patches, and hoping this antibiotics will work.

Oh no! I'm so sad to hear ur durr-babie is so sick. I think it's ok to get a 2nd opinion... but if interns are like intern Dre then he knowable the latest in vet meds bc they must have taught him. But its all ways a good idea to get another opinion. She can't eat or drink? I feel sad. Hope she gets better speedy fast bc sending all kinds of positive energy to ur home now. :0)

He just didnt seem confident enough, and a little unsure. I dont want to let anything be left and find out it made it worse. She has been eating, but rarely drinking I've been syringing water into her.

Oh man, I absolutely hate to hear that Patches is still not feeling well. However, I'm happy to hear that she does have a owner that is willing to do everything that she possibly can for her furbaby. There are definitely times that I think that it is very important to get a second opinion when it comes to health issues, whether it is for human beings or for animals and I have to say that I do agree with you on getting a second opinion on Patches condition.
