I do! My husband don't like to drink water. Does it sound strange? To me at first it was strange that a certain person don't like to drink water, I mean water is very essential to our body, I can't live without water most of us can't but not my husband. I convinced him a lot of times to drink water but he did a few times still he's back to drinking fruit juices. What should I do to convince him to drink water?

Well I know a lot of people who don't really like water. Instead of water they drink softdrinks without them knowing that they are dehydrating themselves by doing so. There is no substitute for water. We should drink this. Now your husband can't perhaps appreciate the value of water because he has not yet experienced how to get sick due to lack of water. My sister learned a good lesson when she suffered UTI due to lack of water. And my other friend is now drinking lots of water after ignoring water for so long when she contacted kidney problem due to lack of water. Some people wants to learn the lesson through hard way really.

What's the reason your husband gives for not liking water? I had a friend who hated to drink water (said it was tasteless) - but that's just so strange to me - what's there to hate about water?! Fruit juices are actually not good - it's processed fruit - and it's heavy on the sugar (even though it may be natural sugar, sugar is sugar to the body). But for some people that's not reason to give up their fruit juices. However, water with a twist of lemon is apparently good for the digestive system! As they say, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. If you do the shopping for the house, I would conveniently "forget" to buy his fruit drinks and other drinks so he'd have no choice but to drink water at home - ha ha.

Yes I do it is my husband all he usually drinks is tea so have put him on decaf tea. Very occasionally he will drink fanta orange. Also my 11 year old son will not drink water at all even when he is training for his athletics he refuses to drink water so I usually give him flavoured water. Maybe your husband would drink that. Personally I like nothing more than a glass of iced water on a hot summers evening.

I also know someone who doesn't like to drink water. I had a co-worker before and she was pregnant that time. We were really worried about her because when she was pregnant, she didn't like to drink water. When we ate together, we observed her. She didn't drink water but instead, she liked drinking soda everyday or everytime she was thirsty. I think, it was a bit weird because she really needed to drink water because she had someone in her womb who needed nutrition. We told her that she should drink water because her baby might suffer but she didn't really like. She said she didn't like the taste of water. Maybe, even though she didn't like the taste, she must had thought of the baby. Her tummy became bigger and bigger. It was good when she gave birth, I think the baby was also normal and healthy. I can't imagine myself not drinking water. I think I would get sick if I wouldn't drink it. I would also be thirsty if the drink I would take in isn't water. Water quenches my thirst. Maybe just keep on encouraging you husband to drink water. Tell him that it's really important to all of us, but if he really doesn't like, I also really don't know how. :)

BEfore, in my passed religion, one of our minister is not drinking plain water at all. He said that his stomach will be in trouble if he drinks plain water. One time, he told us that he got really hospitalized after drinking water. That's why when he goes to one place, he usually requested for juice or softdrinks or coffee as his drink. How weird isn't it?

I sometimes prefer to drink coffee than water too, but because of health issues I force myself to drink water very often especially in the morning I try to drink 3 glasses even if I almost vomit or get full of water, this will help me for UTI

Well if he is drinking 100% fruit juices his body isnt getting the water he needs. It isnt good for him to not get any water from any sources. My husband never drank water either but I know he drank coffee in the morning which is made with water so he was at least getting that amount. He would drink alochol and soda but never pure water.

I don't understand how people can say that they don't like water, because it is the most important thing that our body needs, and it also doesn't taste of anything so I think that the people who don't like it must have something wrong with them. They could at least add a little bit of cordial into it to make it taste of something if they don't like tasting things that are so plain. I always drink a lot of water and will make sure that I have a bottle by the side of my desk at all times so that I can take a sip whenever I feel as though I wish to.

Well, he really is a grown man and shouldn't be told what to do. I do like to drink water because there isn't as much sugars and acidity in it so I don't rot away my tooth enamel. I can drink bottled water, boiled water and sometimes tap water. My friend really doesn't like to drink tap water or make boiled water. Instead he chooses to buy the bottled water all the time. I just think its weird to spend so much money on bottled water but I guess its healthier than buying and drinking soda pop.

I have always been a big water drinker. Nothing quenches your thirst like water does.My children ARE not water drinkers like I am. they say that water has bo taste. still I try to persuade them that their bodies need the water.

I'm not too huge on water, either, only whe it's really hot and I'm sweating and after working out, I prefer water. Otherwise, I prefer something that has a little bit of flavour... like flacoured mineral water or fruit juices.
