Hello Lotters, It says in the newspaper "Thank you, China" i thought they were thanking china for finally leaving our territories and top claiming them. but a couple of days ago they were spotted in their fisheries to areas near palawan seas. In the Xhiuan website (english version) they called it nanshan Islands and they will fished there for like ten days. they are making the people of china believable that that is their territory, i just stayed that only to read the space related stuff but that's not the reason they are thanking China, it was because of our deteriorating Angat Dam, that if not fix soon, could trigger higher floods. either diplomacy or a distraction to favor them into giving in to the disputed territories. What do you think? not a referral link. http://globalnation.inquirer.net/44587/amid-tension-aquino-thanks-china-for-funding-of-water-project

yes china is a super power country and i think they are just extending their good hands to us. some people may think our government is crazy about these but i think our country needs the help of other countries with financial stability.

Oh I do hope that this is not a "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" situation. But most likely it is. I wonder what China would be getting from us with doing that favor because it is impossible that what they are doing is just a kind gesture. I am sure there is a catch.

Yes I guess that is what is all about diplomacy. Sometimes there are things you should set aside since the other party is also doing something good. So in this case we should show the grateful country that we are. But of course this does not mean that we have finally given up on our territorial claim because of this "Thank you".

Yes, whatever the purpose of China of doing it, then we only have to show to them how grateful are we and that we are really happy that despite of the current situation, they still help us....thank you...

I'm not so sure but I think that's a loan, loan means we have to pay it back plus the interest, if it is the case then what do we have to be thankful for?? It is purely business, we could get a loan anywhere else besides China especially now that we have good rating in the IMF, Sovereignty is a purely different issue, it's not only us but ASEAN neighbors particularly Vietnam, as well as those in east Asia particularly Japan, that are having issues so it should be resolved in an entirely different forum, manner or whatever
