If it is not in your luck

I believe in luck, which is guided by your past and present karma; and destiny. Few days ago I had sent gifts to a friend, it was heavy, the post office didn’t accept. I tried alternative means, but it could not reach. This reminds me of a story; God Shiva and his wife Parvati donate things to devotees, once Parvati told Shiva, ‘why you don’t donate something to this devotee?’ Shiva said it is not in his luck; to prove it he kept a big gold brick in front of this devote while he was walking. When he came near it, a strange unusual thought came to his mind; he thought how blind persons walk, so he closed his eyes. His legs fell on the bricks, but he didn’t open eyes; he just walked away!!!! This proves if it is not in your luck; you can’t get; be it money, gold, or lottery. What is your opinion? Have you ever won money in lottery, or got something on the streets, public place, train bus etc? Please comment on this. Thanks in advance. Prof. Bhuwan July 18 2012.

As much as I wish that I was able to say that I had won the lottery in my life, that wouldn't be true to say. However, I do consider myself to be lucky in many other ways in my life. First of all, I am still here to talk about my life despite the fact that there was a time when I was a teenager that I did try to take my own life. There have also been other ways that I've been lucky like the fact that I won a free heating and air conditioning system for our house just after we bought it.

Glad to know you own free heating system and air conditioner, but sad, why you tried to take your life. That we are alive is the greatest gift lol.

No, I never joined the lottery. But, a year ago I found a wallet that contains a lot of money at the gas station restroom and I return to the owners, according to resident card. And, I was given a replacement cost of transport. I've also been given money by someone else, without knowing why. Perhaps this includes karma.

It is certainly karma, by returning the money you did the right thing, you did what we call good karma..

namaskar sir the only time i got money on the street was 5.00 INR in 1990 right in front of the temple at Puri. i had an ice cream worth 0.75INR(for me an my cousin younger sister, price includes both ice-creams) and the rest i gave to the beggars who line up the road. the only time i won a lottery was the kali pooja lottery - it was a table clock. the seller of the tickets was my friend, and i had got a ticket (worth INR 10.00) for free on the condition that i would give him the won item. when he informed me that i had won, i gave him that clock. he still keeps that clock in his shop. it was 1994.

Professor bhaiya: I agree with you. I will say 60% luck and 40% is one's own efforts that brings destiny of each of us. In case change is desired it can be brought down to 50/50. Our birth in a family is due to fate/luck. The position of family after our birth depends on our luck/fate. The spouse one gets again depends on luck/destiny. The children one gets --their quality--their merits depends on luck/destiny. good day.

I am not firm believer of the same but yes I try to grasp whatever good I can from wherever I listen. And yes sometimes something is not in our luck and finally some or the other way we end up loosing same. But i feel this should not be ones excuse. And this is the reason I do not like bringing destiny talks in my conversation. It may look an excuse. On the same note, when I talk to myself, rather to my soul in peace, I make myself understand that getting disappointed for not able to achieve something is not the right way, MAY BE IT WASN'T IN MY LUCK.

Hello again. I do believe in karma, whether good or bad. What we are now is due to what we had done earlier either in an earlier life or when we were young in this life itself. Luck does not happen by chance. If you had done a lot of good deeds in your past life, you might be reaping the benefits of it in this life. So, everything happens with a reason. The maximum I found on the road is a 50 rupee note on the road when I was on my way to school. No such luck of winning the lottery.

Luck sometimes only gives the result but hardwork with great attention gives the right way in our path. The god also taken several avatars in his life and made great attempts for ex: Lord rama. If the luck only determines their life they need not take avatars.

its feels like a coin has two aspects and one should choose the one...now its matter of priority that which one to choose...and the right one take you longer. to my opinion if luck is not on you side then try bringing it to your side.
