My birthday is on the 31st and my passport expires. I'm now running around like an idea trying to find what I need. I have to get updated pictures, I think I may drive the 45 minutes and get them done instead of going to the local town as you need appointment (I may call and see if they will squish me in). I need to find my birth certificate, and my old passport then look up all the forms and where to go. When I got my passport in 2007 I went to Brampton (an hour or so drive), they shut that office so I either have to mail it, or go to Mississauga.

Just go to the post office and within 4 weeks you will have your passport. Where do you plan on traveling to? Print the form and do most of it at home and you will be fine.

So are you going to have to spend more money to get your passport renewed because of the fact that you need it in such a short period of time? I know that here it will typically take 6-8 weeks to get a new or renewed passport and it sounds like you are trying to get your passport within a week and that is really quick. I certainly hope that you don't have to spend too much money in order to get your passport back by the time that you need it.

I don't know what country you are residing at, but I am living at the U.S. and I just got my passport renewed a month ago. Actually, the whole process took about 3 - 4 weeks long, but you can expedite it by paying more. I print out the form from online, usually the central government would post any information online quite convenient nowadays. And I got the picture took through local pharmacy stores, or you can get it done through post office, either way. That was my experience on renewing the U.S. passport.

No worries--you have plenty of time! When do you actually travel? Once I forgot to renew my passport until right before and overseas trip--I was still able to get it done in time--you just have to pay a bit more. And yes, make sure you have everything you need before you get to the appointment (going in person is the quickest way). Good luck!
