You all know about Khuay the funny cat, but he has now developed a new side. He has become a cat of mystery! I know that you're all waiting for the explanation, so here goes!
About a week ago I got up, bleary eyed as usual and headed for the coffee pot. As I was pouring the coffee I noticed something rather rigid under my foot. I lifted my foot and looked down...laying on the floor was a cable tie. "Hummm", I wondered, where did that come from and who dropped it on the floor. I had a good idea because the culprit was a night owl and a prize hunter. The real mystery was where in the world he got it because I live alone and I don't have cable ties in the house. I picked it up and put it on the counter figuring that it was a one time thing.
A couple of days later, I again was bleary eyed and headed for that first cup of coffee, and again I stepped on something rather rigid. I lifted my foot again and found a knitting needle. That was a real puzzle because all my knitting supplies are stored in the craft shed. Did Khuay figure out how to open doors and find the knitting stuff? I know there are NO knitting needles in the house so where did he manage to find one?
Monday I got up again, made that bleary eyed trip for that first cup of coffee and this time stepped on a metal shank button. It wasn't anything that I have in my stash, and I don't leave buttons out because I know that the cats would be apt to play with them and possibly swallow them. I checked for open windows, doors that could be opened, any holes in the wall that the cat could fit through...and found nothing.
This morning was the most mystifying of all! I got up, headed for the coffee pot and got my coffee (with sugar and cream...please remember this) I looked around to make sure that Khuay hadn't latched on to any of the mink bear pieces from a special order...which he hadn't. I went back to take a shower and remembered that I needed to feed the dogs. I went through and got their dry dog food which is in my work room. I put the dry food on the counter and reached for the refrigerator door to get their canned food out. I looked down on the floor and there was a $20 bill sitting there, with Khuay sitting beside it looking very pleased with himself.
To start with, Bill didn't sneak it in, I know when he is about to come through the door because the dogs give their happy special bark when he comes up the driveway. It wasn't a neighbor because the dogs would give their warning bark and Abby would be right at the door that the person tried to sneak through. It didn't come from my purse because I am at the end of the month and have no bills larger than a five dollar bill in my purse. Oh, and the door to the patio is locked so no one could come in through to the work room. Now where in the world did that cat get a $20 bill? And to make it odder he made sure that he put it on the floor face up!!!
Has anyone else visited the Twilight Zone lately??? I'm living there with Khuay right now....

Good golly!
He's learned to teleport! I mean, I've known a few cats who could do it, but they generally only do it to be especially annoying, not to fetch money, knitting needles, buttons or cable ties!
Its either that or you have a black hole and instead of eating stuff there, its spitting them out in your house and Khuay is finding them!

I am very thankful that you opened that closet! It would be like yesterday when we went to the recycling center. Bill called me to the back of the car and pointed out something really odd...there was a mummified tree frog on the back bumper!!!! It was a couple of years old from the way it looked. I gave it to one of the workers for their kid to take to school...to scare the crap out of other kids and hopefully for show and tell.

Well if it is a black hole I hope it will keep spitting up $20's. I've had cats that could teleport! You're right about their doing it to be annoying. You might be right, I've found him in the store room when I haven't been in there for days...and I had him in my lap that morning. It's the only answer since I live alone and Bill pops in and out during the day and doesn't go into the store room.

Wow...My first thought was, "you better start wearing sturdy shoes to protect your feet"
but now I wonder if perhaps you should protect your purse..Looks like Khuay took to hiding your money, (I'll never believe this sweet cat would take a visitor's money), knowing you will need it later on. It's almost what I have to do with my husband. I keep back money he doesn't know about and if he is out of money for fuel, I sometimes have it.

I thought the same thing, except that I have a hook in my bedroom where I hang my purse. Unless Khuay has learned how to walk on walls like a.....fly.....oops!!! With that cat anything is possible!!!
Let's just say that because the hook is about five feet off the floor and it would be difficult for a normal cat to get into the purse. And he is too honest to take a visitor's money! I don't think I've had any visitors come by that have had money on them because any visitor comes in their swim suit and their wallet is usually at home. It's a mystery!!!

Do you mean to say that your purse is on this hook every second you are home? There wasn't just one time that you put your purse on the sofa or table, just for a few seconds, before hanging it up? Then all I can say is obviously someone had that money and accidentally dropped it. What about Bill? Does he carry money in his pocket, sat on the sofa and it somehow fell out? and really does it matter? (unless of course you find out Bill did loss 20.00) You are blessed and you should be thankful...

I honestly am curious about what he is going to come up with next!!!
I have owned cats all my life and this guy is the strangest I have ever met! I thought that my Siamese that fell out of trees was strange, but Khuay has him beat paws down!
I'll keep people posted on his "mystery" gifts!

You were asking where in this world did that cat get a $20 bill. You know it is not from your purse so then it is from another purse. But I also would like to give that cat the benefit of the doubt. It could be that the $20 bill was blown by the wind and it accidentally fell near Khuay so Khuay got it and brought it to his master. So rejoice, you are 20 dollar richer and Khuay did it for you.

Yes I would definetly say he's the mystery cat behind the shenanigans there, as far as I see it. But the $20. bill is really funny. I was always joking with my other cat I used to have who I played with and gave a fake mouse to, then he would want to run out and find a real mouse to bring in. A few times he succeeded. I then started thinking I should start playing with him with a $10. bill and maybe he would go out and fetch one for me. LOL. But your cat doesn't even need to be played with to bring a $20. bill, how amazing is he! I think he's turning into one of those cats that go around the neighborhood "stealing" neighbors stuff and bringing them home to you. Does he go outdoors ever? The fun part is you never know what he's going to bring to you next. I would think something is going on though, he is sure an interesting cat.

I don't allow my cats outside since I live way out in the country. I worry too much about what might attack them. We have coyotes, mountain lions, bob cats, skunks, badgers, raccoons, and rattle snakes. It would kill me to lose one of my babies to one of the wild animals. All of them have been inside cats since they were kittens, so they don't miss going outside.
Hey, give it a try. Let him know that if he will bring you a ten spot you'll give him an extra special treat. Who knows, it might work.
