Can you believe my luck??!!!? My legs were so swollen up by Wednesday that I went in to the clinic and they sent me to the hospital to get some lasix and to make sure things were under control because when they looked at me they didn't want me at home alone in that condition. The skin on my legs was so stretched out that it felt like it my break at any time. Although they only gave me one small dose of the lasix, by last night, I was able to move a lot easier. They would have let me go home then, but I was worried about sleeping since I started having trouble breathing when laying flat the night before going to the hospital. They did keep me until today and then they also sent me home with a hospital bed to use until this is over. Hopefully that will take care of all the problems. It would be really nice if I could get rid of all the extras in my house (bed, walker, oxygen, etc.), but It will be a while I'm sure. I just know that I won't let the swelling get as bad as it was this week!

Sweetie, I am so sorry to hear that you are having to go through all of this. It is no fun at all to have to go through all of the health problems that you've been having and I know that the accessories that you are having to keep in your house are not fun either. As far as the lasix goes, are they only giving you some as needed or are you having to take lasix at home too in order to make sure that you are not retaining too much water?

They only gave me one shot of it by IV and kept me under observation for a day. They were concerned about the kidney function and what effect the lasix would have on it so they didn't give any more. The swelling went down a little bit and the pressure on my skin was bearable after that. I couldn't believe how much it felt like my skin was going to break when I first got there. I just wish I could make all these problems go away for good!!! Can I have a whole new body???

Thanks for the comments! Now that I know how easy it is to get rid of the swelling, I should be able to keep it from happening or at least be smart enough to go in and get the lasix before it gets so bad. Have a great weekend!!!

I wish that would happen too, but so far the only "taker" I have had was my brother who has been in Taiwan since February and I don't want to separate him from his wife and kids and they plan to stay there until they are on their feet. My niece might still come, but I'm not going to bet on it. I know that this will get better, I just have to be patient so that I don't give up before I have a chance to heal. Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks for the kind comments! I'm sure that things will get better as it didn't take much to get me feeling a little better with the fluid buildup. I just wish I could leave behind the blood thinners used for the blood clots in my lungs. It is enough that I have to deal with the fluid backup of heart failure! Have a great weekend!!!
