I bet you all runners have the same problem as me at times.. which is laziness!! I have a 2-month marathon schedule but unable to follow it as planned sometimes, such as being sick at the day I planned to run 21km. I thought I could run the day after but retaliated to run again because I was lazy. I am really afraid that I cannot keep up with the schedule and then unable to run a good full marathon at September (2 months later). Could anyone of you share with me about your running schedule and challenges you faced back then? I am really confused.. whether is my body telling me that I am too weak to run or that I am just being pure lazy.. Oh my, I need some help here!! Btw, I run trails every week and with new balance minimus (closer-to-barefoot shoe).. What about you?

If others can do it, then you can do it. 21k is really manageable for a runner. you just need to be motivated.

I am not really a runner. I enjoy more skateboarding. I think that when you have just relaxed some time, like when you was sick. The pysical part of your brain tells you how good it is to be lazy.

21 km is what... like 13 miles? I haven't been hit with too much laziness because I usually have a race every month I only loosely follow a training schedule, meaning I do shorter runs on Mon and Fri, a tempo of some sort on Wed, depending on when I raced last I might take off Tues AND Thurs or JUST Tues OR Thurs, or two days in a row following a race weekend unless it was a really short race. I do my long runs back to back on Sat & Sun, either something like a 12 on Sat and then an 18 or 20 Sunday or maybe I reverse them. I think training plans are great and as long as you get the mileage specified in there each week someHOW, I don't really worry about when or how it gets done. Some of my friends are really sticklers for staying with their plan, there are times I don't take rest days, I either run anyway (slower or less mileage or both) or I cross train and go to a workout class. I will say if you get sick or you're really exhausted and you don't physically or mentally FEEL like running, you might have been hitting it too hard or you're just sick and need to recover before you keep pushing your body. How much are you running a week? I wear New Balance too, one pair is a regular high mileage cushy shoe and my other pair is more minimal and I use it more on the road. I don't think I can ever go too minimal because of how far I run, I'd kill my feet.
