Philippines

We have TV yet don't plan to pay for cable yet because we have plans to move out from the city. This reason why I don't know much on what is happening now in the Philippines. The last thing that I was heard is the death of Dolphy or the comedy king. I wish I know more.

If you're after local news, you can always check the Philippines leading newspapers such as Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin and many more as they have their own online portals too.

why don't you try cable network without cables. i mean, digital cable like sky or cignal. i guess you can move with it too, like cellular phones that you can use when there is signal available.

we can keep ourselves updated through the web. Yahoo news and twitter for example always have a breaking news and trending topics. i think both have brought latest news faster than the broadcast on tv.

better get a tv and enjoy during vacation since you will never ever get back this time or enjoyment so its always best to go for something which is ideal and be updated rather than be worried about news

I don't think being cable-less would put you out of the loop regarding what's happening here. I mean, the local channels can provide you news and other information about current events. You would however have somewhat limited info about world affairs since these local channels would only provide you with limited stuff, and mostly it's headliner news and sports. With cable though, you have lots of channels to turn to :)

Oh, you can know your country news through the internet. I don't have TV or listen to radio but i always update information every day through the internet. I have no plan to buy TV also, since all i can watch on my computer.
