Reputation stars help

Hey there everyone. So I was told in one of my previous discussions to check the Mylot help for answers before asking you guys. But I have a question that I can't find on the Mylot help.
It's about reputation stars. I don't know what reputation is! Can somebody help me with this? I used to have a reputation star 8, I didn't really mind it before. I took notice of it one day when it went down to six. So here are my questions:
1. What's if for?
2. What's does it do?
3. How does it go up and down?
4. Why do some people have no reputation stars?
5. Does reputation affect your earnings?
I couldn't find any help at the Mylot help. But maybe I didn't look well. Please answer the questions. I forgot much about Mylot in my long absence and now I want to know all about it again. haha.

hi Olonam the reputation and stars are from we my lotters rating our mylot user friends plus or minus. pluses help move ones star up which in turn helps you earn better while too many minuses can
drop your star down. the higher the rep in the star the better you
can earn., i think its in the guidelines the admins says that your reputaton is figured in the earnings algorithm so red and blue make for the best earnings.newcomers have to have 100 points I believe before they get their first star. also please rate other posts as you respond as it will help you and all of us

Haha. This is also the problem if you post a question with a correct answer. The first few comments is when you learn and the others are just the same answer as the first.

I used to have 5 star.I have improved.Thanks to all those close friends of mine including you.They always give me an unconditional "+".Sometimes I forget to rate their's ..am so sorry for that.Thanks for reminding me.Your rating will go up,try to build a guild of people who are like you,same interests,same issues etc.Answer the questions that posted by those people who have similar inerests and matching opinions.Never oppose any discussion,if you have nothing to say in favor of it,just leave they question.
Mine is currently eight,I can't really improve my rating,with poor vocabulary and grammar of mine.I am stranded on '8' for at least a month.When will i get a move on??
I am not going to answer your questions,because more experienced peeps have answered it.

Hi, Olonam, I don't have the knowledge of members like The Lamb and I'm not a senior member here. In fact this earning system, myLot earning algorithm etc. - all this is too complicated for me. But I'll tell you my strategy: I try to log in as often as I can, I'm glad when I stumble upon interesting topics and people and I'm grateful for the chance to communicate with people and have fun. The reputation and the earnings are not so important for me. I wish you to feel good in myLot!

That is told to avoid repetition of discussions. However many newcomers in mylot raise doubts which are clarified by other members here. discussions which go towards enriching the information available and from different angles are allowed to continue. Your star reputation will improve on other members rating your responses, discussions +. Good day.
