Spain will get Gold at the London Olympics.Champin must have a great center,such as Pau Gasol.

I think they are a contender but I don't think having a great centre is a prerequisite. Honestly I think Pau has been slowing down and isn't at the top of his game anymore. They should make it to the gold medal game but I'm not sure they will win it.

I agree with your comments, koop. While I understand that FIBA and the NBA are different, just look at the NBA champion Miami Heat: Chris Bosh was their center, and they didn't really have another big man. While a big man is nice, I think we are entering an era where small ball will dominate more. Being able to have players guard multiple positions and possess versatility will be new keys, I believe.
I point also to team USA, whose only true center is Tyson Chandler, yet they just beat Nigeria by seemingly 1 million points. While you cannot ignore the plethora of talent they have with their forwards/guards, I think it will be USA vs. Spain in the gold medal game with the Americans bringing home the gold.

I think Spain will face US in the gold match-up if both teams won't meet up during quarters and semis. USA will still get the gold but Spain will be a tough customer.
