Friends. How did fraternities come about? Is hazing really necessary just to be part in a group? Here in our country Philippines, some students have died during the hazing process as the frat members injure the recruits. I dont see the point of this torment. Does this happen in other countries?

Yes, in my country is also happening. Of the physical violence of the old members to new members. The victim's family strongly objected, and demanded that the police acted. I don't understand the ways this kind of orientation.

I have no idea where this all started and how it started. But I think this group started early on and from most of the names are derived looks like it is from greeks. They were formed because as brotherhood or groups that will protect each other. They have created their own traditions and beliefs and to be able to protect each other. The hazing part is something of a mystery how it became violent since I know they have to do something like this to ensure that the member will be loyal to the group. But as time goes by the hazing part has become worst and worst since neophytes are given harder hazing rights to get even from the former neophytes.
