Freelance Writing

Hi, all!!! I am sooo new to this whole online thing, and I want to know how to do some freelance writing on the side. I tried to see some sites here in our country, but they only pay a dollar for a 500 word article. I know I have no right to choose, being a newbie and all, but do you have any idea how I could get paid more than that?

Try Yahoo Voice. They don't have any set limits on what they pay for articles, it depends on what the publishers decide, but they say if your writing is good you can get paid quite a lot. Yahoo is a trusted brand in my eyes so you can't go wrong with it. You can also try RedGage, you can get paid for adding links to your content, and blogging on the site. Every month they pick out some feature articles and pay bonuses which are really nice. Between those two sites you might start to make some money if you put in the work.

You are from Baguio? I am also a freelance writer but $1 for 500w is too low even for a newbie. The local pay for articles is quite low because they are only the middlemen for some foreign sites who are into SEO. If you write directly for the foreign sites you will be earning pretty well. I am writing for a local employer and I get to receive article orders daily which allows me to earn from $15 to $20. I am paid though in the peso equivalent. I have been writing for the same employer for a year and it is almost like a regular job. The earnings are good enough for me considering that there are no deductions for tax and I don't have to spend for transportation and new clothes. I work on my own hours except when there are orders that have to be completed immediately. There are many article writers in myLot and they do provide writing sites that pay well. Good luck and by the way, I am also from Baguio.

Hi, Yahnee!!!Small world, haha, nice to see you here at myLot. I know. I thought that was too low. I actually have a day job, but I want to do some freelance writing just to please myself, tick a number on my to-do bucket list and of course, I need the additional income. Besides, it's a sort of a childhood dream. I hope you can share or PM me pointers...

I am a freelance writer, and I have to say that there is no way I would be working that much for such a small amount of money. The website I work for pays $30 for the same amount of work, and that is much better for you. I also work freelance on another website and you earn depending on how many people view your website which is quite good as I have a blog on which I can promote my articles. I have earned more on there than by using any other website, and I have to admit that I am proud of the way that I have been able to earn money on the internet.

Hi friend, I am doing article rewriting tasks for which I get paid 1$ for rewriting a 500 word article. I will not say that I am too happy with the rates but that is what my employer can afford at the moment. I got this task from Freelancer.com. You can try your luck there as lots of projects are available each day. I get 24 hours time to complete articles, mostly 2 or 3 of 500 words each in a day. However, when he sends me urgent articles that have a shorter time span to complete, he pays me 15 cents extra for each rewrite. Apart from this I am writing on Triond and Experts Column. I am getting a passive income from them. I have also signed up on a new site and trying my luck there. I will let you know if I get paid.

Hi venessapaula, welcome to mylot, there are many article sites where you can publish your articles and some of the sites where you can republish your articles and get paid. I do write some articles and get money from those sites. Some sites they pay royalty for the articles.

My suggestion is that you may try to improve your personal skills in some speciality and then send your article to the special magazine to earn more money.

I think you can apply for squidoo, hubpages and others where the rate will be base on the views, but you can earn more by blogging, but if blogging is not your forte you can do some ghost writing instead which I do sometimes and I hire sometimes.
