We all have our own id that is why we called it id or identification. If i were you i will not share my own id coz it was your privacy and a problem like that what are you goin to do? just nothing. You just help your friend by doing another id for her so that she has her own. Again as a friendly advice it is your own id and keep it with you only or if you want to share make it sure it was your very close friend or your behalf. But not for 4 people. Try to help in another way... its not bad but you need to be selective... okay be happy and try to help in another way.. you are good one.

I don't really share my email address with anyone here on Mylot. I don't want to give out my personal information to other people online. Because I don't want to get spammed mail into my email account. But if you have known the person for a long time then you would probably feel more comfortable with talking with other people outside of Mylot.

never share your email ID with any unknown person. some one may try to cheat or con you (not sure). or they might have interest to make you real friend.

Well I have tried giving out my e-mail ID but only to those people I trust most. It is not a good practice to just share it to anyone for privacy reasons. It pays to be cautious sometimes.

I have not given anyone my email address here in Mylot but I would not be concerned while giving out. The reason been that it is hard for someone to steal your identity unless you are giving your detailed person information. Furthermore, our email addresses are over the internet from many websites/programs that your have registered with.

Hi gaavegeta, it's quite easy to open an email account. I haven't shared my mail id with anyone. And such situation never happens to me yet. I would like to suggest my friends to get he or her own one if this were to be happened in the coming future If you don't trust your friend and worry about the friend may read your personal mail that you don't want to share with other. You can open another new mail account and inform those senders like bank, money sites, close friends, to send mails to your new mailbox for confidential purpose. Have a nice day and happy posting

Most of the communication I have with my mylot friends is done here where it will earn us money as well as friendship. Anything that is sensitive and that I would not want to say in a crowd I would use the PM feature for. That being said I would wonder why so many want your email address. The first reason that jumps in my mind is that they want to send you some business proposition that may or may not be a scam. I would use great caution in giving out my email address. While I feel I have made some very good friends here the fact of the matter is I don't really know the people I have called friend and even the ones I consider my close friends I have never seen face to face.

I have given my private email to a few friends here and there are others that I would if they asked, but for the most part, I use the PM system they have on here for communications. They go to my email anyway so there is not much of a difference.

Hi Garave, i had been sharing my email id with a few members from a few sites. So far, i am doing fine and nothing happened to me. I think as long you share your email id only with the person that you can trust, it is no harm. Of course you shouldn't share your email id with people whom you just get to know. Always be careful with everything that you want to share through online.

Hi, I got a PM last week asking for my email address from a new friend I have made here. I did not give out my email address. The PM mentioned that he wanted me to join his team at a site where I could earn big and that the details would be given to me on my email address. I am already into a lot of earning sites and do not have time for more. So I politely refused. Only if I knew a person for long would I share my email address with him. For a person who has just got on to my friend list and whom I have hardly interacted with, to ask for my email address is something daring. If he wanted to send me all the information, that can easily be done through PM here. I have shared my id with a couple of friends with whom I have done a referral exchange and I find them trustworthy. Also, they did not spam me. We interact via email only when the necessity arises. Or else we talk here in discussions and comments. In my opinion, you should tell me them to say whatever they want to communicate here itself. If you know them for long then you may share your email address. Otherwise, you might be flooded with spam.

well it depends what they are asking for your mail for? if it is to chat on windows messenger, or aol or something like that, surely thats harmless? if this is someone you are friendly with, then obviously they just want to chat further. if this is someone completely random out of the blue, they are probably trying to sell you something, or get you to join something more than likely. i don't see it being identity theft..

if the message is receiving from mylotter then no problem but if someone ask whose you not know dont share it. No here no chance of identity theft. I also share my id but only with 3 mylotter who is my good friend.

Chance? How about likelihood? Only share if you would like your phone to be compromised as well, I should think.

I doubt you need to be concerned about identity theft from sharing an e-mail address. Now if you share your password, social security number, mother's maiden name, bank account number, credit card number, paypal ID and password. Seriously, you might get spammed, that would probably be the worst case scenario. Just don't share it with anybody unless you feel comfortable with the person.

What do the private messages say? If you are really friends with the person on Mylot then maybe it's fine if you share it. But if it's the first time you've ever encountered that person than maybe it's better to just ignore the message.

I have shared my personal email with 3 mylotters. I feel that those are personal friends and not just online friends. I don´t like to share my personal settings with many people. I even hardly use Facebook, because I feel that there is a lack of intimacy that for me is important.

I don't think that sharing email id with anothe person is the most reliable practice to have. too much can go wrong and the complications and frustrations could be endless. Friendships and other relationships could suffer over something so trivial as n email. It is not worth the risk in the end.
