I sometimes wonder why eating a lot of delicious food would cause a lot of health problems while the opposite is true. Why is it that oftentimes the food whose taste we don't like the most are some of the healthiest food on earth? Did you ever wish the opposite is true and that eating junk foods and all types of sweets and delicious foods would be the ones that would make you slimmer and healthier? Any insights and opinions with this matter?

All I can say on this is,Don't blame the food, blame the cook! Eating is all about the Visuals, the preparation and presentation..Parents have sneaky ways of getting young kids to eat veggies that they'd never touch..If the creativity went into healthy foods that made junk food so popular(You eat burgers, right?),we wouldn't have this issue..

Arranging on a plate takes time, but it is essential. I completely agree with you.

I guess you're right, ShepherdSpy. For me, the 'sight' really does affect my 'appetite' greatly.

I always wonder that why the food I dont like eating is more healthy for me . I dont have problem with weight gain, thank God all my family members are normally slim . I can eat almost anything and still look the same. I think people who try to lose weight and always stress are the one who put on weight . My fiance moto is eat now until the doctor say other wise because when that day happen we will wish we have eaten lol . All my family eat like me so far no one have to stop eating any particular food even my grandparents still eating what they want , maybe its the kinda food we eat . We hardly eat can food . I love cakes and chocolate milk and all those things I wont give them up any time soon , I still eat my fruits and vegetable though , I cannot do without those beside most fruits grow in my back yard .

Hi silverfox, you and your family seems to be gifted with super fast metabolism so you never get fat no matter how much you eat. I hope I could have that gift too, but sadly not. Anyway, I think if you and your family totally neglect eating vegetables and fruits, it could be a different story. I think you have a more enjoyable life to most people who needed to often take care to observe what they eat.

A lot of food which we often avoid are the ones we badly need. We sometimes avoid eating vegetables because of their taste. We are choosy as if those will kill us. Someday, we'll learn to appreciate them when we already badly need them. Whoah, I hope we can train our taste buds to accept eating them so that we'll be healthier. It's for our own good.

I guess to many people, they start eating healthy food when they are already sick. I guess this doesn't have to be the case if we know the importance of preventive medicine by learning how to live healthy in every way including what we eat. I should tell this to myself often too because of my tendency to eat junk food and softdrinks.

I think the reason is tastier foods mostly have additives to make it more appealing to the taste buds. If opposite happens, then there will be fat and healthy people, instead of unhealthy.

Additives do make our food tastier and satisfy our taste buds. I guess I can mention some healthy food that are delicious as well. For example, there are myriads of different fruits that brings joy in the kitchen like avocado, mangoes, banana, strawberry and a lot more! With vegetables, it's more difficult for me to name something.

To a large extent, we consider junk food to be delicious because of our bodies' natural cravings. Your brain and body is still adapted to a time hundreds of thousands of years ago, where the most essential nutrients we needed were relatively rare, and so whenever it comes across them, it still craves them like it will never get any more. Chief among these are sugar, fat and, to a lesser extent, salt. All these things are necessary to our survival. However today they are so readily available that we end up eating far too much, which can cause its own problems. Although some of the most delicious and satisfying foods, to me, are healthy ones. Like someone above said, they just have to be prepared right. Or eaten fresh from the garden.

Yes, I believe fresh vegetables together with healthy fish can be quite a delicacy. Anything with lots of sugar would be considered unhealthy, and this includes food that have too much salt.

I guess it is because of the added sugar and preservatives in foods that make it extremely appetizing and unhealthy at the same time. THe best thing to do would be to balance everything. Healthy food options don't need to be bland. There are also good ones. Happy eating!

that is the essence of healthy foods they are not boldly tasteful to most of us but they are the one who bring good to all of us. they are usually neglected that no one bothers to choose them. like the BIBLE most neglected book but if you read it. it can help you grow spiritually, emotionally, and eventually physically!
