A surprise visit

I just got a surprise phonecall from my friend. He lives in another part of the country and he is coming to my area tomorrow. He asked me if I wanted to meet and have coffee together, and I am happy because we don't meet very often. I didn't think that we would have the chance to meet during the next couple of months, because we are both busy with work and we live in different parts of the country. We are going to meet on the neighbour island and I can't stay for more than a few hours since I have to work at night, but I am still very happy. It will be nice to spend some time together and chat. Do like surprise visits or do you prefer to make plans in advance when you spend time with your friends?

I like to make plans in advance when I spend time with my friends or relatives better. It gives me enough time to make a plan, to prepare for it. But you and your friend will be together only several hours, you don't need to prepare so much, maybe just a gift, a meal. That's all. May you enjoy your time with your friend.

My friend and I had a great time together that day. I enjoyed seeing him and chatting to him again. I am going to visit him in September, but at time it will be a planned visit, because I have to plan my visit according to his work. Yes, when it is short visit we don't need to plan so much. When it is a longer visit it is good idea to make plans in advance. One of my other friends also lives in another end of the country and when her and her husband visit us we plan their visit well in advance because they usually spend several days here.

In my experience, those surprise visits and trips are the one that are the happiest instead of those planned ones. More often, a lot of people starts backing out during the planning stage leaving everyone disappointed. We all love the spontaneity and everything just fall into places. Lke we're all hanging out after work on a Friday night and someone just declared, "Let's head to the beach!" And wow, it turns out to be the very best Friday night ever. Of course we have to buy swimsuits and stuff on the way but it's still fun.

I also think that spontanious activities are a lot of fun. I remember one evening where a friend called me and asked me if he could come over. I didn't expect that at all, I thought that I was just going to have a quiet evening at home. We talked on the phone and then we decided to out for dinner that evening and later we had a few drinks. Nothing special happened that night, but I remember it as one of the best days that we ever spent together, maybe because it was so unexpected. We really had fun that night.

Oh, I like a couple of days notice. I enjoy thinking about the visit coming up and making plans. It kind of extends the pleasure of the visit.

That is true, that is the positive thing about making plans in advance. When I know that I going to meet friend that I don't see very often I always look forward to the visit and make plans. I also like surprice visits like the visit from my friend tomorrow afternoon. I didn't think that we would have the chance to meet during the next couple of months so I was happy to hear that he is going to visit my area tomorrow.

It's okay for me to be surprised or to have an advance notice what is important is that your friend remembers you and willing to devote time for you. That is the best gift a friend can offer. Time. I congratulate you for having a real good friend porcospino. Enjoy your day!

I agree with that. I think that it is so nice to know that our friend remembers us and wants to spend time with us. I got very happy when I received the phonecall from my friend, and it came as a surprice for me that he was going to visit my area. We had a very nice time together yesterday. My friend came to my island and we had coffee and dinner together and we talked a lot I was happy to hear the news from his life and the news from mutual friends as well.

I love surprises! I have called out of work sick just to meet with a friend I haven't seen in years, and she was on a layover at the air port but that hour we spent together was like the most awesomeness ever! I think the surprise visits mean more too, because your friends took the time to think about you, to remember you and to want to see you- and it's not making plans which can change or be cancelled. But surprise you don't have time to change plans, or for things go wrong.

It is great to hear that you had the chance to meet a friend that you hadn't seen for years. It must have been amazing to meet again. I have a really good friend who lives in another country, and I would love to see her again even if we were only able to spend an hour together I also think that a surprice visit mean a lot, it is nice to know that a friend thought about us and wanted to meet us. I had a really nice time with my friend today. We were going to meet on the neighbour island, but he changed his plans and came to my island instead. We chatted for a while and had a very nice time together

Surprise visit can be good depending on what my priorities are at the moment. If I were to have a surprise visit from a friend and it conflicts my schedule, I will probably still see my friend but not be able to have a chat the longer I wish it to be. Anyway, whether it is just a short chat or a long one, the important thing is you give time for your friend whom you don't see much. Hope everything will be fun when you meet up with him.

Yes, sometimes we already have plans or a busy schedule and that makes it hard to spend a lot of time with our friends when they come for a surprice visit. I am in that situation at the moment because I have taken some extra work during the summer months and my free time is limited. I still want to meet my friend since he is coming to my area and I was happy when he called me. He will arrive at my island in about half and hour and I look forward to chatting with him.

My friends usually call me and ask if it ok to pop to see me, hence giving me an hours notice, but thats fine. I love to see my friends that I have not seen in a while, as it do not matter about short notice, as long as I have no appointments to go to. One of my friends has moved to the states and I have not seen her in over 20 years and I hope that she will be popping back this end in the next year or so.

Last year I received an e-mail from a friend who lived in the states for 30 years. After that long period this friend wanted to see me but time was short. I was so busy at that time and this friend was living again in a few days. I wish I was e-mailed a month earlier when this friend of mine just arrived...

I's always nice to meet friends that you don't see that often :) I am very happy for you! I don't really make plans in advance, I just think about a few easy things before I meet the friend. Good day to you.

I prefer planning in advance. If we try to surprise something we may hurt them.Once i came to my native to surprise my parents without telling them in advance. But i got a big shock that they went to a marriage which is far from my native. At that time myself and my parents felt very bad.

I give my mom unannounced visits all the time. She lives overseas and I do call her regularly, but she never knows when I will visit her. The first time I did this, my sister was so mad at me because our mom almost fainted with shock of seeing me when she opened her door.

i do prefer advance planning than surprise visits, an overnight talk is not enough to cover the long lost time.

It is so surprised the get a phonecall and a visit from a good friend. After graduating from college, it is not easy to be with your friends.
