Congratulations! Why are you afraid in the first place? You are going to attain the noblest position a woman can in her life.Your fear may harm your baby.Rejoice.Be positive.Of course, you will have to undergo pain at the time of delivery, but,as you know,'no pain,no gain.'Go by the advice of your doctor and be happy.Try to be cheerful.Read good books. This will help you bring good thoughts in your mind. And be thankful to God.Never forget that you are going to be a mother.

ooohh... i don't really have some nice ideas based on my experience. Because I have high tolerance on pain. And I do experience severe menstrual dysmenorhea that's why it seemed like my labor pain is just the same as my dysmenorhea. But let me put it this way... Expecting the most painful abdominal pain of all, that will affect your back, and your private part. In this way, you can condition yourself for the worst. In time your labor pain comes, you can be ready. But one thing that can help also is to relax. Don't think too much about it. Because sometimes, being nervous adds to your burden...

Hello corina and welcome to myLot. Congratulations on you becoming a mom with a baby girl. Honestly no one can tell you about the pain of child labor as it is different for every woman. I worked on the maternity word at the hospital. I was there for many births. Some women had a very rough time and others had it much easier. Some didn't have more than one or two real pains before delivering their babies. Here in my country hospitals have birthing classes so mothers can learn to work with the labor instead of fighting again it. Learn how to breath during the contractions too. If they are available in you country I suggest you take one with your partner. Some Dr will give you some pain medication to take the edge off the pain if you need it. Are you going o a hospital or having a midwife? If your having midwife talk to her about how to work with you labor. I think we should stop calling it pain when it really is labor. But I know that that labor can also be painful too. Good luck with the new little girl too.

Well, don't worry :-). I had two boys, 1 8lb.15oz and one 9lb. 12oz. Natural childbirth both times, 12 hour labor the first, 9 hours the second. Oh yes-- it HURTS. But after the third day, it's like you don't remember the pain, probably due to hormones. I remember both my labor experiences very well, up until I went into transition-- then, all I remember is focusing all my thoughts on my baby. It was as though I was watching myself from the outside. The pain just was there, but I didn't feel it the way I did before that point--- it was all about pushing, not pain. Your body will know what to do, and everything will be alright. Kids are a scary thing-- especially after you bring them home!

Honestly, it does hurt but after that hurt the end result is a miracle! Your little angel. You seriously forget all about the pain once the baby is in your arms. My labors were fairly easy compared to most people so it does depend on your body. I had natural labor all three times and I am okay. =) I made it, you will too! My labors were really short too. My longest was 2.5 hours, which is really short. Like I said though, after it's over you do forget about the pain. It is so worth it all! I am sure you will do great. We are stronger than we actually realize. I never thought I could go through labor but I did and I did it naturally! You will be in my prayers.
