Are these people really crazy or is this one of the side effects of too much television, movies, games and so on.I'm not sure however the act of these people is just unbelievable. The worst thing is that innocent people get killed. Are they doing this for attention?or simply crazy?

My personal opinion (not backed up by any research) is that it's a combination of things. First, violent video games where the player is a criminal (chasing police, killing people, etc.). Movies and TV used to be foremost in violence and they still count, but don't hold a candle to role playing in video games. It doesn't take much for a role to cross the line to real life. Secondly, people entertain themselves to stupidity, literally. Heaven forbid that they volunteer at something or do chores around the house. Oh, no, let's watch a movie or let's go to a concert or let's just "hang out." It becomes pointless sooner or later so people then look for a thrill. Thirdly, we are crowded physically into huge cities and hemmed in by rules and rules and more rules. Some are written, but some are not, but we must live by them all. There is always the stress of fearing what happens when one breaks the rules. Even criminals fear social awkwardness and stop and stop lights. Somewhere, they have to break out of the rules. Fourth, we've lost our way morally. Children are not disciplined, at least partly because they fear they will be targeted by "social welfare" and have their children taken away. Adults who were raised without discipline don't have the ability to discipline themselves; also they don't know how to control their children and those children wind up with mental problems, lack of responsibility and focus so their consciences are numb.

Aw man! That is awful! They are either crazy or possessed! Which reminds me, we can only be careful enough. I am not a strongly religious person, but i would strongly suggest that before you go out of your house, one must always pray so that our angels can guard us against dangers that we are not aware of. Be safe...

Most of these type of killers do it for one reason because they have plenty of hatre on people of faith and anyone that has a different belief system than himself. It is unfortunate the Sikh temple was picked this time for his personal reason, if he is not killed, the next massacre site may well be a Christian church, a Buddist monastery, a Muslim mosque, a Jewish synagogue or a Taoist shrine. It is not a matter of crazy, but someone in possess by evil spirit with plenty of ignorance within.

I agree that people who kill are usually mentally ill. It also doesn't help that some of the mentally ill people are exposed to violence on TV, etc. If a person has mental health problems and they dwell on negativity, there is an increase possibility that, they will eventually act on those negative thoughts.
