Do you think Indians did not prepared well for olympics as they are winning very less medals? I don't think so ,Indians have reached the bronze and silver though very less but i think the sports facilities provided in India are satisfactory moreover Indians mostly consider cricket and did not take interest in archery, boxing, judo, swimming, racing, jumps.Indians should be encouraged to take part in every field of sports and the sports facilities should be improved.

yeah i think we Indians..should also concentrate on other sports to..means they need a much better encouragement from government and academies should play a key role in doing this..and more funds are to be sanctioned and utilized in a useful way to encourage talented player in every sport and game..mostly related to Olympics

yes indians are not preparing well for olympics because our government doesnt do any facilities to build good team.. In our country all politicians are going behind money only.. See kalmadi he is really a black mark to our indian athletics.. we all go behind cricket because it has more glamour than sports i feel ashame of it.. Indians always speak about culture but most of us we wont follow that.. I hope in future more and more youths participate in Olympics and make india proud

I think India's chances were over-rated. I would say that most of the people I expected to get medals at Olympics got the medals. I expected Saina, Mary Kom, Vijender and Abhinav Bindra to get the medals. Of these, Saina and Mary Kom have got the medals. Vijender is one bout away from a medal. Abhinav Bindra, of course, disappointed. But, it was more than made up by Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang. Cheers! Ram

Only two sports have more than 1 million people practising them in my country -- soccer and tennis --. Having sports facilities is not enough to have good athletes : they need good sport trainers and mentors, and to be helped by the state to do their sport -- to find them a job compatible with their sport training, to offer them the best possible training, etc. --. Without this, no state is able to get a lot of medals in olympic games nowadays.

Hi, its not only the interest but as you said, we do lack good sports academy. Even the ones we have, it is out of reach to all. Might be in future there would be more youngsters drawn towards hockey, archery and more...
