Meaning of reputation in MyLot / myLot

Hi All, I am a new joinee to the MyLot community. Here I have seen some of the users has a Star mark on there names with some number. Some how I cam eto know that this is reputation. Can any one tell me what is the meaning of reputation in Mylot? What is the advantages? Does it have any affect on our earnings?

You will see your 'star' when you reach a User Rating of 100. It is entirely a result of how other MyLotters have rated your posts using the [+] and [-] buttons (the Discssion Rating System). The Discussion Rating System is ALSO factored in to the Earnings algorithm, so how other people rate your posts also affects your earnings. We are NOT told that your 'star' rating affects your earnings, though some people will tell you that it does. Thanks owlwings sir I also not understand the meaning of reputation. But now I understand what is the meaning of rating or reputation.

@ Pavan_m01: NOBODY knows what ratings they have been given or by whom. You are NOT notified and nor can you see whether anyone has given you a rating or not for any post. All such ratings are entirely anonymous (except to Admin).

Thanks for this question. I am new on the site so I was wondering the same thing. So far it seems I earn a penny per comment or discussion created.
