The new girl that started at my new job (the same day). We both worked today with the manager, and another worker (who's pnly been there a month). She would just stand there, she wouldnt help customers. She has this just attitude, and I want to smack her. The manager wwould be teaching us something, she would be huffing and just annoying. I did the cleaning tonight, while this girl couldnt figure out how a vacuuum worked. She dragged herself, that took us an extra 30 minutes to close because she just wouldnt listen.

Seems to me that she never really needed or wanted a job to begin with. I just wonder why she have to take the job if her heart isn't really into it; why bother to waste her time there. And there are also lots of people needing a job, why didn't the hiring manager noticed her indifference. I had my share of people like that at work and to be honest I don't like how they drag the mood of the team down. But they don't last long, either they quit or they get fired.

I agree, I think shes just too young and her parents expect her to have a job.

Sounds like they won't be having her there much longer. How do these people get hired anyways???

I really dont know, she doesnt seem very motivated by any means. She barely lifts a finger, but then again she is young. But I was working at 15 at a fast food position and I was never like that.

Ricki, you will outlast her on this job. Do not let her ruin the fun you will have working there. I am in a position of picking my battles and gripes at work, and it sounds as if you will be too. Unfortunately every where you work you will find slackers and you just have to do your best.

The best counter-measure for laziness is to shine like the stars, moon and the sun (especially in the face of the manager). Be a shining example and let karma do its work.

Okay well it sounded to me at first as if she was just nervous or unsure of herself, but now she just seems lazy. Maybe she hasn't had a job ever, or in awhile who knows. If she keeps up with it though they'll fire her, and hopefully she'll realize that and start putting in her fair share.

She is so annoying, I can feel it. I can not stand to have work mate like her. Have you talked with your manager? because she will ruin office atmosphere if the boss not rebuke her. Keep up your work, do not get irritate.
