Went to a gym for the first time ever today

My mom just recently started going to this gym a few times a week and she really likes it. I guess I get to go one time for free with her and today she brought me a long. The gym is called Orange Theory and it was pretty cool. I've never been in a gym before and today was the first time. I liked the place because you go at a certain time and there's an instructor to guide you. We started off on treadmills and you can go at whatever pace you feel comfortable. The instructor has you start off slow and you work your way up to a faster pace. You wear a heart monitor the entire time and there are 5 different color levels. For the most part you're on the 3rd level which is green but the goal is to get yourself into the 4th and 5th levels which are orange and red. After treadmills you go to a rowing machine and then to weight exercises. That one round of all three really killed me and I almost got really sick and fainted. I had to sit out the rest of the class but I felt that the time I did put in was a good workout. I'm kind of mad at myself that I couldn't last the whole routine but I was also kind of sick today. The manager ended up giving me a week for free so I can come back and try more classes. Overall it seems like a really good place to work out. I know some may not like having the instructor tell you how to do your workout, but I like having it because without them I wouldn't know what exercises to do since I'm new to the whole gym thing. Has anyone else tried out Orange Theory?

I've never been in an Orange Theory, but I've been in a few gyms. When I was in university, I started working out and I appreciated having an instructor. Nowadays, I prefer not having an instructor so I could work out at my own pace. Although my routine maybe a few years old, and may not be as effective, I still like it as I know that it worked before. But honestly, I haven't been in a gym this year.

This was my first time ever being inside a gym at all lol. I bike, swim, go on the treadmill, and do other exercises at home. Even with the instructor we could still do things at our own pace and stop if it was too much. I think for me, it was good to have someone as a guide to keep me on the right track because I honestly have no idea what I'm doing lol! It was really hard and killed me, but maybe I'll try it a few more times to see how I like it and who knows? Maybe I'll become a gym person lol
