...in times of real trouble, I wish I voted someone else

I know that I could hardly recast my vote in this time of the year but sometimes, I wish I could vote again for the purposes of the moment. If that were to come true, I wish I could vote someone else I thought capable. Sometimes, hindsight is a real pain in the neck. Anyway, the reason why I came to this conclusion is this news article that a fri8end insisted I read. http://www.interaksyon.com/article/40007/helping-or-campaigning-pnoy-defends-presence-of-senatoriables-in-relief-ops I already know what my friend is implying. We had an argument about who were we going to vote for in the last presidential election and we voted differently. I voted for mine and she voted for hers. Sometimes, I wish I voted for hers. But don’t tell her or she’ll gloat. BTW, I don't think I would vote for those people in the pics. I hope that the Anti-epal bill is still active and not dead. So, what do you think of the issue? Worth it or trash?

Well I think you cannot reverse anything anymore. I too regretted voting for GMA before but what can I do I did tested my conscience and it was her that I thought was the right person to vote for at that time and so I cast my vote for her. But in the end, I realized I was wrong and I think I cannot do anything on that anymore. What you can do right now is just pray that change would happen while they are in position and if there is none then perhaps in the next election you can again choose who you think is right for the position. But what you have decided in the past cannot be changed anymore and you can only wait for your turn in the next election to vote for that person again or choose a better person than whoever he is.

Yeah I think that was my sentiments before. I felt there was no other choice between the two. For now, I think that politics has tamed a bit under the new administration but you could not expect that it will totally change over time. The previous administration stayed for 9 years so it may be hard to get rid of those that still stays within the government. I still have high hopes that it will do better in the coming days but we could never say things can change in one abrupt moment once a new president or any elected official is installed, it takes time...

Just as the saying goes "For every choice you make there is the benefit and there is the price that you pay for it". For now we just made the choice and we have to pay for whatever the consequence of your choice before. We just make sure that we did choose according to what our conscience dictated and not by popularity nor was it bought by them. If you've done that then I guess there is no blaming whether you've done the right thing or not. Besides yours was only one amongst the majority that voted for him so you cannot be held responsible for everything he committed.

Your exchange pretty much echoes my sentiments o that particular period of time. It was the lesser of two evils, as they popularly said. But then, again, we’ll never really know., Thik waits for no one, and we’re stuck to whatever we decide to do. Sigh. @Rsa101. I really hope so.

REGRETS, REGRETS, and more REGRETS...let's just move on people. I would have a thousand words to say since I voted and even campaign a little for Richard Gordon, but that's not going to change now. and more over, there are more idiots out there who prefer to have their votes sold than being put to those who can act. the difference is that i have no regrets and now look at him, not only he has a media or a show, he can still help in the Red Cross. you know my real sentiment to this, there is no future...as long as this keeps up it won't be long before we are totally deteriorated. Unless it's gordon again, i sworn not to vote for every one else. because HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHO WOKE ME UP..

I agree we should move on as we see that even Gordon is not talking about it anymore. He has moved on as well and maybe just waiting for another opportune time for him to ran again if given the time and money to ran again.

He was even disappointed to the fact that people compare him / to what aquino is doing is suspeciouly campaigning, he went against that notion. too bad though really, he should have been the leader of this country. most people are too much of a racist / judgemental, look them now asking at the mercy of the government for help

@letran. There are definitely regrets and sometimes, the ‘what ifs’ are having their day. As much as we want move on, oh well, move on, you say. I think you already expressed your sentiments enough and I appreciate it. Thanks letran, you gave me a very good idea for this coming election. Good but not popular people are always underestimated. This goes for rsa101 as well.

We can't really eliminate politic motives even in times of disasters like this. I even saw a truck with banner of an official. It is such a shame that they are using this disaster to campaign for themselves.

I hope we can with the passage of the Anti-Epal bill. That’s the reason why I want it to pass before the election. I guess even in times of disasters, there are shameless politicians and defensive ones too.

Are you referring to Chairman Gordon. Well my vote was only to him as well as my family. I really campaign for him during those times and even campaigning him while on the comelec and registering my vote, but according to some people while campaigning him, he wont make it and their vote will get wasted, or the remaining candidate will win if they voted for him. What a shame these pinoys how to vote, they don't vote according to their desire and conscience but voting for money and analogy only. How I wish that the election will ban poor families because they are the one that was used during those times

THEY'RE THE ONES WHO ARE WASTED! but the politicians enjoyed it and love using these people because they knew they will hot hesitate to sell their votes! that's why a lot of people leave the country because majority are sold outs! unfortunately, you can't ban poor who are legitimate voters. however, if they only require tax payers to vote, i think it might gain a bit of advantage..well, so much for that.

To give a name, yes. But I think any man who really can impose solutions and actions is my man for the job. The problem is getting repetitive and very much ignored. I am wondering why and how the residents in Manila can put up with it. That’s pretty much my argument with my friend. The election was like ‘what the people want’ not on the lines of ‘what the people need’. Reflecting on this, I felt my opportunity went to waste. I hope there is a paradigm shift when to comes to people treating the elections. @letran. Yes, many are sold-outs when it comes to the elections. Let’s face it, it’s a popularity contests as much as reality TV show. At your proposed method, many people will definitely howl at that. With good and no good reason at all.

We don't have the power to know the future so when we chose to vote our own candidates, it's all based on our gut feels, unless we know them personally. We couldn't blame ourselves in that sense. All we did is vote for someone whom we believe to be worth the vote. Well, what's done is done! What we could do now is help one another rather than put blame on both sides. But well, we couldn't avoid the fact of regretting and wishing things be done the way we want it to be.

Yes th hindsight is really painful not only in voting but also in anything in our life. Regarding to your voting, from the point of my view,I will cherish every chance for vote, cause it no just show respect to the candidate but also respect to myself. Before vote I will get every thing about the candidate carefully them think about it for a certain time, then I will make a desicion, cause I had do everything I can do so no matter what happen later,at least, this is the right desicion to me at that time, and I will never regret about that,in another words,I will never have that painful experience of hindsight.

Good for you, I guess and then bad for me. I always think that elections are popularity shows and there will be the context of the good and evil among politicians. Anyway, it’s more often of the hype rather than the content.

for all i know, even if you have voted a different candidate won, you would still feel the same way as you do today. point is, people tend to despise whoever they had put into power.
