My cat is sufferring from bronchopneumonia

It has been a month since my cat, Hiro Nakamura , started suffering from bronchopneumonia. It started soon after he came back home from a pet shop. He stayed at there only for 2 days. I thought it was an ordinary flu, maybe he just tried to adapt the new condition. Then I went to a vet, Hiro was diagnosed suffering from bronchopneumonia. 2 weeks after taking the medicine , hiro was brought back to vet again because of his health kept going down. But unfortunately, he ran away from the vet. Everyone helped me to find Hiro, and he was found after a week of his dissappearing (It was about 3 days ago). He was so poor, thin, and a lot of snots over his nose. When I brought him home, he always asked for food. But, no matter how much and how many kinds of foods I gave to him, he just couldn't eat! Something wrong with the tongue I guess, maybe he has stomatitis. And now, Hiro has been hospitalized for 2 days.. I really hope that Hiro will be better soon .. Anyone has the same experience as mine? Please share the story, and I really need some advices in this case

You and Hiro have my prayers! There is nothing worse than a sick cat. If they can't smell they won't eat any kind of food. I've had cats that I have had to force feed to keep them alive. Have you contacted the pet shop that he was at? He obviously caught the bronchopneumonia from that shop and they should not only take responsibility for your medical bills but they also need to inform other clients about the possibility of the outbreak and other people's cats getting seriously ill. I wish I could do more, but I am praying fervently that Hiro will recover soon.

Thanks a lot, Loverbear! ^^ Ah I see, maybe because of his lack smelling so he couldn't eat any foods I gave to him. Well, Hiro has been supplied by the nutrition water at the hospital. I hope it could help him as well for a while. Umm.. I haven't contacted the pet shop yet. It isn't a usual thing that people will admit that there is something wrong at their shop . They will blame the customer, especially in medical cases. And , in Indonesia, animal still isn't that being treated as important as human. My friends couldn't stop laughing when I told them my cat has been hospitalized. But my family do care , we just won't stop doing anything the best we can do for our pet :) Thanks again for your pray! ^^

My one wish is that the entire world will see the value of not only the animals in the wild but also those whom we select as companions. One important thing to keep in mind about cats, and that is if they can't smell their food they can't taste it and they won't eat it. It's the same with humans too, our sense of taste is triggered by our sense of smell. To be able to tell if your cat isn't feeling well is to see if the cat is eating. If the cat isn't eating then there is a problem. Your friends don't have much compassion for your situation. It's sad because you are worrying about the cat and your friends, instead of helping you by supporting you are laughing at your worry. Please keep us posted on Hiro's health. I am hoping with all my heart that he gets better soon.

Oh my gosh, I just discovered the best response!! Thank you so much!! I am recovering from broken ribs (I fell a week ago Sunday and landed on my side on the dirt. Fortunately I didn't try to keep myself from falling otherwise I would have been hurt worse.) and the Best Response was the greatest medicine I could have received. Thank you!!!!!

Base on the situation you presented to us, it clearly shows how animal lover you are. You love throught your pet is unconditional and it seems no one can question about it. In my case i also have a puppy before but sad to say he doesn't last long for some accident.Since then i'm not into pet anymore because it really hurts. It takes time for me to recover from that incident.

I'm sorry to hear that, dear :( I know how it felt when we are losing our lovely pet. I lost my cat over 10 years because of labor pains. Yes, we really need some times to be able release all of our sorrow because of that. :)

Hi, I didn't had experience with our cats. Normally, something happens like this, they won't eat anything much for few days and will be back in normally without medicine. Now, as long as you consulted with doctor, wait for few days more. It must be digestive issue or check if it is eating any kind of grass, then it will automatically recover. However, it should not last for 2-3 days and should be alright. Any way, give medicines in time and hope will recover soon.

He ran away from the vet? What kind of vet lets your pet run away from them? I don't understand the way your friends laughed when you told them you had your cat hospitalized? People can be so cruel in this world, animals are actually like our companion in this country and am proud to say I'm an animal lover as well. I feel very bad for any domesticated animals in some countries, that is so sad to know that there are some individuals who wouldn't care for them as you care for your pet. I think you are doing good by being an animal lover, they actually have a benefit for your own health. pray his mouth and tongue gets better, this is the second time I have heard of stomatitus today in cats. I have not had the same experience but there was one discussion I responded to about someone who had acat with that illness about her cat not using the litterbox or something with stomatitus.

Yes, you're rite. The vet even didn't said sorry or feel sorry at least. He just said that if we couldn't found the cat more than a week, it meant that the cat had been stolen by somebody else. And he asked us to let the cat go if it happened. My dad was so dissapointed , and never let him take care our pets anymore. Nah, I saw some shows , Dog Whisperer and a show that people rescuing some animals who need help. The people in your country treat them so well. The people in here must do the same thing sooner or later :) Oh I see.. I will search the discussion ,then. Thanks, dear ! :)

Well it seems like you really love your Cat. You should pray for him/her to get well, I know you may react differently but for me whenever somethings wrong with our Family I pray and then it really gets answered because the issue gets solved right away. I think you would consider your cat family and you should pray and believe that he/she will get better. ^_^ God bless, May your cat be healed from it's sickness in Jesus name. Amen.
