My new ride!

My ride in living colour. - Had to make some major adjustments on this bike to be able to ride it comfortably. My buddy had this big @ss ladies saddle on it which I traded to my wife for something a little more utilitarian. I razzed him about it at work. He razzed back about how high I had to jack the seat up. I'm a great deal taller than he is.

Bought a cheap Walmart bike from a friend at work. Got it almost brand new. I've been riding it for a week now and I've already put more miles on it than the original owner just commuting back and forth to work. Yeah I'm boasting about a pretty cheap bike but hey it's an upgrade from the one I was borrowing from my wife to commute. It was assembled from a former neighbor's scrap metal pile. Cobbled together parts from several derelicts including my previous ride. I usually name my bikes. My old touring bike which I still have and fully intend to rebuild when I have the cash is named Airwolf. My commuting bike from the last few years was called Sidekick. The frame will be going to the scrapper along with a couple of old frames from my kids bikes. They were all cobbled together from junk. Most of them have better bikes now. That gives me a problem. I haven't got a name for the new one yet. I'm looking for a little help on this. I'm thinking "Fireball" but I'm not sold on it. Anyone have any better ideas.

My bike. - This is my new bike.
The bike I was riding previously wasn't terrible, and has since been passed over to my brother when I got the new one. At first the twist grip shifting threw me for a loop but I've gotten used to it now, mostly I've taken it on joy rides so far but with this new pair of wheels I'll really be able to get around. I added a picture but I don't know how to add it to the discussion, sorry.

That's funny somehow you managed to add it anyway. Hope you have a lot of fun with it. It sure is an upgrade from the derelict you were riding. At least that one is still working though. Some of the others have had major breakdowns.

My new ride. - This is the new bike my dad got me recently, it serves me well and I am please with it. It is a cheap Canadian tire bike but, it does its job.
I'm very happy that you got me a new bike, especially since I haven't had one for about a year or two. Fireball sounds pretty good, after thinking a while the gang and I have a suggestion or two you might like Namely: Wildfire, Red streak, Fire tornado, Red Lightning, Red Eagle, Blazing dragon, Hot coal, Burning ember, and Blazing pedals Might add more later if you haven't decided yet. I'll try to put the picture of my ride but, don't count on it showing since I haven't much of an idea what I'm doing.

I'm still trying to figure out how you guys manage to attach a photo to a comment. I tried exactly what you did earlier today and it didn't work. I'm going to have to ask about that. It's bugging me. Lot of good name suggestions but most of them make me sound a whole lot faster than I really am. I'm an old geezer compared to you guys and I wasn't fast when I was young. I kind of like Wildfire. Short and sassy. A lot of my ideas that didn't make it into this discussion were way too long.

There's a couple of ideas. I still haven't made up my mind on anything yet. I'll probably settle on something before long. Will likely mention it here.

Since this bike of yours is the first one that you used money to buy, maybe you can consider "money talks" as the name? :)

Actually this isn't the first bike I bought. I did buy my old touring bike brand new about thirty years ago. This is the only other bike I've bought for myself. We did buy a number of used bikes for the kids that they grew out of. We kept it all pretty reasonable. I'm expecting to get a lot of miles out of this one. Thanks for the suggestion. Something like "money saver" might make more sense for me though.
