There is a saying "you are what you eat". I have a problem with my belly fat, recently. I have started to do exercise regularly. But my friends said, my food choices are the most significant affecting my belly fat. Do you know, what kind of food should I eat to reduce my belly fat?

One of the best foods to eat for losing belly fat and dieting in general is grapefruit. There is tons of research that has been done on grapefruit. I used it to lose weight. I works quite well. Also, fresh raw almonds. Studies with almonds showed significant belly fat loss. Another thing is complex carbohydrates (also called good carbs), that is whole grains such a quinoa, brown rice, whole-grain bread, oats, whole-grain barley, pasta made from whole-wheat flour, also vegetables such as spinach, green beans and broccoli. Many fruits are also good. This works only if refined grains are not included in your diet. Because your body uses complex carbs so efficiently it limits the amount of sugar that is converted to fat. Most of this information was gleaned from reading about research that was done and personal experience. You also need fiber in your diet This is very good for you and will help with weight loss. And of course you know that sugar is not good.I wish you success in losing your belly fat!

Can you get pink grapefruit? That's what I eat. Not so sour. I also use a product called xylitol in place of sugar. It comes from hardwood trees and looks like sugar, tastes like sugar, has no chemicals and is all natural. It is good for diabetics and people on diets. It has 9.6 calories and 4g total carbohydrates. I used to LOVE sugar. I would take a popsicle stick and wet it then dip it into my sugar bowl and lick the sugar off. I can do the same thing with xylitol. Here is a good link for info on grapefruit for dieting: www.thyroid.about.com/b/2004/02/19/grapefruit-and-weight-loss-the-grapefruit-diet-is-alive-and-well.htm Eat a grapefruit with every meal. You'll see the weight loss very quickly, I think.

If you're not sure of what foods you should be cutting down on to lose weight, keep a food diary so you know exactly what you have been eating...Then go through the items, see what you have been eating more of,and cut down on them. You may be overeating, you may be eating late in the evening,or snacking too much. In General to lose weight-Cut down on breads, starchy, and processed foods, eat healthier snacks, cut out sodas (sparkling water is fine)and cut down (or better, out) chips and chocolate. Drink more water, eat more fresh fruit and veggies. Eat smaller, regular Meals. keep up with the exercise too and you should soon see a difference.

You'd be surprised how it's the little things you might be nibbling and would forget about that would be tripping you up in a diet plan..

Belly fat are most likely caused by eating alot of carbohydrates. Extra carbohydrates are converted to fat. I would suggest you to include less carbohydrates in your diet and add more vegetables.

I think you should reduce or avoid fatty foods, soft drink, artificial juice and carbs. Better to eat more on fruits, vegetables and fresh juice. Plain water also help to reduce belly fat by flushing all the toxins and unnecessary fast and sugar to our body. Try some exercise that focus on your belly part like sit up or belly dancing.
