I asked my daughter to cut all my hair off

My daughter said 'but mom! Your hair will look like a machete cut it'. I said I don't care. Just cut it. My hair was driving me nuts. I was sweating and my hair fell all in my face. Also I had bed head with terrible snarls. So she chopped it all off and I don't even card what it looks like. I told her when I am well I will go to the beauty shop to get a buzz cut or something to start my hair back right. I just don't care what I look like right now. I just want the comfort of not having that bob hair style that I couldn't even get a brush through. Your thoughts?

I had a bob cut hairstyle last year and I hated it. My hair is now past my shoulders and I am hoping that it will grow out soon so I can get it cut again. In my teens and twenties I loved long hair, but now that I am 37 years old I want to cut it shorter. Sadly, Randy prefers me to have long hair so when I do get it cut I do not tell him how much I am getting taken off and let him be surprised. I know that you have had some heath issues lately so I do understand that you want an easy hairstyle that you can take care of that will not take much time to do. How short is your hair now? If it is short and you want a buzz cut it may not take long to get a haircut. I am going to let my hair grow out for a while and then I will cut it. It will probably be sometime next year. I am starting to get some gray hair and am trying to decide on whether to dye it or not because I am afraid if I do not then I may not get hired.

Gray hair in light or dark hair is very beautiful. I wish I never colored mine. Everything I put in my hair turns it red. My hair is chopped off. My daughter did it. I told her too. I sweat all the time with my response problems. Maybe Wednesday I can get to a shop and get a razor cut all the way or a buzz cut. It will grow back out. I just can't deal with sweaty bed head.

Hello, its really remind me the conversation between my mom and i when i was in hospital. I had motorcycle accident and had head injury, i was bleeding and it covered my hair. And i asked my mom to cut my hair because i couldnt wash my hair & i couldnt wakeup from bed so i asked her to borrow scissors from nurse. My mom said she doesnt know how to cut hair in goodshape but who cares anyway. Now after i got out from hospital i can take bath and wash my hair by myself, having real short hair is not bad especially when i wash my hair it will dry faster than long hair, i hate going to bed with wet hair. I miss my long hair, it will take months to get the same length as before but perhaps i can wear long wig or false hair when i get well and want to hang out. For now the hair style isn't a matter, what is important now as long as its comfortable.

I'm sorry you are suffering from an accident. I can certainly relate to your desire to have it cut off. I can't even raise my arms iver Y head to brush my hair to get the snarls out. I just don't have the energy. It may not look good but I don't care. I just want to be comfortable.

I'm sure it looks just fine and considering all the discomfort you are in lately, I would say that your comfort is far more important than a fashionable hair style.

i certainly understand when you are sick and miserable the last thing you care about is beauty. i had it done a couple years ago, cause its been hard to raise my arm with the bad shoulder because of the arthritis in it. its grown back and as yours will. now i just bare the pain and brush it or else ask my daughter to do it. we knew we had these lovely girls for a reason

Hi Bun! I can't let anyone else brush or co B my hair. I'm very sensitive. My hair is all capped up. Some of it is an inch some a half inch and some a quarter inch. SOOOO maybe Wednesday I can get out to the shop and get it a quarter inch all along.

Having a sweaty head is extremely uncomfortable. It only encourages those snarlies to form everywhere. I'm glad you're more comfortable with your new fashion do. When I was a teenager long straight hair was beginning to come into style. My best friend's hair was getting long but straggly on the ends. She asked me to trim the ends for her. I guess you know what's coming next. I started on one side but when I got to the other side it was shorter. So I tried to even it up but then that side was shorter. I ended up cutting about 6in. off. She was pretty mad at me. She didn't talk to me for 3 days. She finally got sick of hearing me say "I'm SORRY. I'm SORRY".

I don't regret it. I don't have the breath to worry with it.

Good for you to choose comfort over "beauty", shows strong character and confidence in you. I wish I had this kind of attitude, I care too much about how I look infront of others and it's a feeling I cannot kick. I bet you feel lighter now, I know myself even after getting my hair trimmed I feel so much lighter!

good idea, being comfortable is the most important thing. I usually put my hair in a ponytail and cut the ponytail off that is as much as it gets. Beauty salon is a bit much for me, but when I move I will be able to go once in a while for a proper cut.

I think that cutting your hair was your own decision. Right now, you need to be comfortable and if your hair was really bothering you then by all means, cut it so you don't have to deal with it. While you're getting better the last thing you want to deal with or worry about is something as simple as hair. It's not a big deal and nobody should say anything to you for it. Hair always grows back and you'll always have more :) Hope you're more comfortable now that you got your hair cut!
