tubal ligation is it really safe?

after giving birth last year, i was advised to have this tubal ligation but not sure if this is 100% effective..any idea how much it is?

All surgeries have a risk and it is true that some women have gone in to have their tubes tied and later turned up pregnant for whatever reason. You should only have surgery when it is absolutely necessary.
