I came across this article that when gentlemen in medieval Japan wished to seal an agreement, they urinated together, crisscrossing their streams of urine. Good thing many people are practicing handshake now. But for some kids do the pinky square. Aside from the usual handshake or pinky square, how do you seal an agreement with someone?

I've heard of a pinky swear which is what I do with my granddaughter who is five, but I never heard of a pinky "square." Can you clue me in on this? I usually shake hands or give a hug to a good friend..and say promise?, haha. I don't make too many agreements but what you mentioned with the urinating is a bit far fetched for me, lol! I'm really glad no one does that anymore..or do they?

Hug can be good especially for friends and handshake for a more serious agreement.

our ancestors did their best to pass their knowledge and lessons for us. now, the task and responsibility is on us for the next generation. well, how do i seal an agreement? if the stake is high, i will make a written agreement. if it is between friends, then just faith in his/her words expressed through hugging is enough. a handshake is too mainstream for me.

That is a fine way in sealing agreement. At least if anything goes wrong, it is in black and white.
