I suggest you look at a website called Trainline to get an idea of prices. It is best to book on there and collect the tickets at a station in London. You need to book in advance and not on the day of travel to get low prices. On the day of travel the cost would be super expensive. Try London to Edinburgh return and London to Glasgow return. Two one way advance tickets would be the cheapest ticket. You could book a coach ticket using National Express if you prefer. Due to it being August I suggest you book accommodation in advance.
