Oh, my boss reformatted my computer this morning. I lost all my important links. I used them at work. I have to search them again and save them one by one. Inconvenient. Happy mylotting everyone.

Ohhh this is very bad and you should again spend the time for searching before formatting saving all important data is good habit. Because now time is less and work is more.

My boss wants us to spend our time working and working so it doesn't matter to him if we'll have to work for those deleted links again. Yeah, it's really troublesome and time is so precious. Thanks so much for posting and happy mylotting.

same with the suggestion of jeanneyvonne, i agree that you should have at least one storage device (USB) for backing up important files. i have this habit of bringing my flash drive almost wherever i go: from home to work, and going back from work to home. i also save another back-up directory in my home desktop for safety. another suggestion to you, angelkarah050182, you may want to inform your boss, in a very polite manner (this is the most important thing to consider), that you have important documents stored in your computer. ask him or her that if possible, if he or she could consult you first, and if you can offer him or her a helping hand if there is a need to do something on your computer, do so. good luck :)

When we tell him something, he will just say, "I'll think about it." or "Okay." But he won't do something about it. I don't know but he's irresponsible sometimes. Also, we aren't allowed to use USBs at work. Thanks for posting and happy myloting. Sorry for the late reply.

Hi angelkarah, Its so sad to you that your boss reformatted your pc without your knowledge. but you can use some back dated recover software but its hard to get like that software they get data after reformatted. So search like this rarely software and waste a lot of time for search this kind, i think you should search that links again and save them one by one.

Next time, try to have a back-up copy of them in a document on your personal USB. This should save you from further grief when your office computer gets reformatted. Or you could copy those links to your personal computer as well.

Oh, we are not allowed to use our personal USBs. We don't have any choice but to save those links again. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting. Sorry for the late reply.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, why don't you back up your data's in DVD or a pen drive? it will be more useful to you at this kind of times, at least you can keep the back up in your email which is more easy and efficient way

He blocked our emails at work. We can't use USBs. We don't have any choice but to save those links again. He doesn't care about our files. Maybe he thinks that if we need them, we have to work for them. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting. Sorry for the late reply.

Why would your boss format your computer? I think although they have control over your PC but then it is important you were informed before they do that so you can prepare at least saving your files. I know there are ways to get back to your old files but I think it is not 100% that you can actually get it especially if the way it was formatted.

He doesn't care about our files. He just reformat them without telling us. At least, he saved our reports but my links are gone. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting. Sorry for the late reply.

Even if he is your boss, he still owe to ask permission with the person using the internet. It is very disappointing since there are still files you can't recover. If that would happen to me then I will really tell him that if he/she wants to do if the/she needs to inform so that I can stored some very important and confidential files.

That sucks! I hate it when I have to do things all over again. After investing so much time putting everything together so that you will be able to work more efficiently, then boom! in just once snap everything is gone. No one will dare approach at work if this happens! ;)

You're right. I was so pissed off when I've heard that he reformatted my computer. Those are important links to me. I use them when I teach. He also blocked some sites. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting. Sorry for the late reply.
