i did another slight mistake again as i discovered something on my started discussion as i read the post back in a time. not a big damage really but i guess identifying the gender of the one of the member who participated in your post would be necessary and important for yourself as you address his/her right identity as you interact like yesterday, as what found it today as for the very moment, i address a wrong identity of one's gender. it is because, i thought he is a boy as what i can see in her profile picture (a hunk :D), but as she replied back, both of us mentioned boyfriend. i guess, that misconfiguration of one's identity told my subconscious that i was wrong for addressing her as him (my apology for that :) sorry so now, can i ask, how important is profile picture for gender identification even in scientific and research writings, it is necessary to address a general subject rather pinpointing one person to avoid being bias. share it here and thanks in advance :) enjoy everyone and have your snacks now...

There is nothing in our profile that shows our gender, thus the avatar matters a lot. Sometimes, discussions couldn't tell us whether the person is a male or female. Even the name sometimes doesn't suggest the gender too. So, i guess it's important somehow to show others what our gender is through our avatar.

Yes very important my profile picture for me. I upload my fake photo that is poo but I upload this because I want to show I like this happy and funny ahah...just kidding. Most of the times we cant identify the gender from profile pic because I remember most of the mylotter was think that I am a man but actual I am a women. They said ohhh according to your photo and name we feel you are man.

yes, i like wennie the pooh character. your experience of misconception of your identity by your friends was funny. but i guess, it is really not necessary here to know the gender of an individual but the problem is maybe it is upsetting to address them so wrongly. so instead addressing them as ms or madam, we can call them sir. thanks for joining here

Feel free to address me as any gender... I won't take any offense at all if it is not correct as I suppose I leave it open that way here... I can be either one...

If we are certain to something, we go for it. It doesn't need to hold back, especially if you are sure about something. Sad to say, some people don't have the courage to do it.
