I have always enjoyed star wars movies. I enjoyed watching the growth of the special effects in the movies. Of all the characters in Star Wars, Yoda is by far my favorite. This is my favorite quote from Yoda: "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." I think that state is so true. Most of our anger comes from fear of something, fear of loss, fear of the unknown, fear of change and when we fear something we resent it. When hate surfaces someone always suffer from it. Yoda, for being such a little guy was pretty smart. Your thoughts?

I grew up when the original trilogy was released to the theaters. I liked them, but I wasn't that into sci-fi at the time. I tried to watch the newer films, but just couldn't get into them. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is a major Star Wars geek! Even our little dog is named Yoda! And we have numerous Yodas around the house displayed. I LOVE that quote from Yoda. I think I'll get it tattooed on me somewhere. Kudos to the author/screenwriter who came up with that line-it's beautiful, and SO true. It's interesting that they gave him this particular quote, but it is often thought that with age comes wisdom. Do you happen to know which film it's from? I can apply this quote to many different episodes that have happened throughout our history. Perhaps if more people heard this quote, they could take a moment, try to step in the other person's shoes, and think before acting. Many wars, attacks, and such probably stem from fear of the unknown. Yep, Yoda was WAY ahead of his time.

I can;t remember which film it came from. I get them all so confused. Yes, I think if people would look at another's point of view we surely would see things differently and it makes me wonder how much history would have changed.

I just read the quote to my boyfriend Jim, and he said, "Yup, that's a Yoda quote". I really wonder just how different the world history would have been had Yoda been real. I really think that someone would have had him assassinated; someone couldn't have handled his getting that close to their reasoning. And Jim said (after some back and forth) that this quote came from the fifth film. Thanks again for sharing it-I've even figured out where I'm getting it tattooed!

Yoda is my favorite but also Jar Jar binks when he came in. But yoda says some pretty true and funny things. There was one that stuck out the last time I watched one of the movies but right now I can't remember what it was. Wise words from a small green man...

I like jar jar binks too but Yoda was by far my favorite. It always made me smile with his order of words. So simple a technique but such a dramatic effect in the movies. Maybe there are more small green men that will come into lives and enlighten us.

You know, I've never been one that watched the Star Wars movies, so I wasn't familiar with the quote that you've shared here. However, as I just mentioned in a discussion by another mylot member, the thing that keeps me from really being able to move forward in my life is my fear. For that reason, I do think that Yoda is an awful knowledgeable individual. It is fear that drives many of the things that we do in our lives.
