Think I'm going through the change of life. Have "hot flashes" ,irritability and other symptoms. I've heard that some people don't have any problems. Was wondering if anyone is going through (or have gone through it) and what you have done to make life a little easier in the process? Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe in homeopathic remedies and I have heard that Black Cohosh is good for these problems. And Maca Root. I take Maca every day in capsule form for energy and general health. I buy high-quality vitamins as many of these types of products can be poorly manufactured and not from good quality plants. Here is a link that may be helpful re:Maca www.vitaminstohealth.com/maca-root.html It's for information, I do not buy the products on the second site, although they may be good. I don't know. I use GNC vitamins. Also, a link I can't seem to make work, do a search for realbodyawareness and on that site search for maca. Very informational. For more info on other natural remedies here is a link www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/natural-remedies-for-hot-flashes/ Diet is also important. I think there are natural health websites that explain dietary needs during menopause. If I find them I'll post here. I hope this helps a little. Before taking anything make sure you research it first. And go sit in front of the fan!

That's good. HRT is, I believe, very bad for women. Glad to help! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the information deazil, I will look into them. I would rather have homeopathic remedies/vitamins anyway.

My mother-in-law said that when she reached menopause she didn't experience any of those specially the hot flashes. But my mother felt the hot flushes and irritability. And she became so doubtful also. However, my mother's hot flushes were gone after maybe a year. But now she became irritable also, because she became a fault finder and can't stop talking once she's into it.

No your granny is not in the menopausal stage anymore. She's already getting senile already.

Well I guess if your saying your on menopausal I guess you can consult to you doctor if they have some kind of medicine to reduce those symptoms off. I am not of the women group in here but I could understand that this is a stage in a woman's life that she would again experience inconvenience in her body once again as you are changing biologically again. I hope you will be able to cope with it and welcome the new life you will be having in the coming days.

Oh, I'll welcome it once I get over all the symptoms. lol But in the meantime I'm embracing the changes as I know it's all part of life.

I found that I got incontinent, not as much as the ladies who were those pants, but everytime I laughed -- and as for nasty as I was always a bit of a grouch so never noticed any difference. I did find that even though I was a light sleeper, I kept waking up in the night. I found that not worrying sort of helped and changing my diet helped. Sorry my brain is not good in the morning. I cut down on sugar, trans fats, etc.

Oh yes, I find myself waking up at nights too, probably from the heat flashes.

I think u are in control when u are going through this. I just had to go on work every day, take care of the son that was home , my house & just stay busy & not dwell on it as much as some people do.It's not a good time but u just have to make the best of it like u do all bad times. GOOD LUCK!!
