philippines overseas employment agency (poea) announce a ban for domestic worker in the middle east countries particularly in saudi arabia and qatar. the reason behind is the increasing number of domestic abuses from our domestic workers. this is a good move because they will protect our fellowmen who worked in the middle east but for those domestic workers it is a no! because they have no job in our country and no income to there families. what is your stand in this matter?

Well better be protected against the abuse than allow them to be there and instead of earning there they got victimized by these abusive employers which in return gives them more headache than they are given a better life. If the Saudi and Qatari government cannot assure our OCW of the protection they deserve then better not send additional OCW to be victimized which can become more of a headache to the government.

I work in Saudi Arabia for more than 2 years. Better our government took action about this issue. I felt pity with our countrymen who work as domestic helpers. Owner of big houses and villas add the hardship of our DH which is not good. Their employer think themselves as all Kings and Prince. They are arrogant and not treated their helpers as human being although not all Saudi's but most of them. We can send our DH to other countries except those you mention.
