For some crazy reason I decided to torment myself by looking online for a new job. You see I can't really get a better job til my son is in school all day (Sept 2013) and day care is very expensive. Paying for childcare over summer would suck up a ton of our tax refund because that's how we'd have to pay for it! Eitherway I was looking and I found the perfect job for me. It was basically identical to the job I had when I had my first child 10yrs agr. It breaks my heart to look at the ad because it's such a good fit. Not that I could even apply but dang... why can't this be 2013?

You know, we do not really want to wish away a single day, but sometimes being into the future would certainly help our present. I guess you will be honing up your skills and polishing up that resume for the next year. I hope that then there will also be a perfect fit for you.

TY Gerty! I have been working on updating my resume with looking at similar positions I've held and inserting their verbage. I certainly hope there will be something that's as good of a fit then. Though I worry about holding down a full time job with having small kid as it would be the first time holding a full time job in 10 yrs. I know things have changed so I will need to learn updated proceedures. The only thing I worry about is not being familiar with updated versions of things like Excel that I didn't do very well with then vs now.

Is there any way you can earn enough online to get the newest versions to work with? Or perhaps your public library will have the newest version. I do not care what people say about the economy, jobs are just hard to come by.

Childcare is certainly very expensive but now I did get an extra tax credit when I paid the daycare to watch mine while I worked. I just had to get the daycare's tax ID number and request a statement from them. You can do it with a babysitter too but it may require them to pay taxes on the money that you paid them. Well...either way..2013 really isn't that far away now and I am sure there will be something that you like then too. Take care.

I know. I don't understand how people can afford daycare you are either well off w/ a higher than average paying job or on public assistance. I just hate feeling stuck at my job, you know I've been there 4yrs and don't even make $9 that's depressing!

yea having kids cost a lot of money no matter how you look at it. I was a single parent and I too had to take jobs during the day only, I couldn't do any evening shifts and so on.

I am someone who likes to know what's going on before it happens. So I have to also think about how to handle summer and doctors appointments ect.

I really do hope so. Yes it has me quite bummed! I like my current job but being retail the pay sux, hours are not consistant, and little to no opportunity to move up. I keep thinking if I could only get a better job that would allow us to do so much including repair our house and not struggle with bills in addition to more opportunities for my family. *sigh*

Thank you for your positive thoughts! I am glad to atleast find that a position like I had is out there w/o hopefully starting at the very bottom again.
